As the Director of Marketing for the US market, reporting to the Global VP Marketing, you will play a critical role in accelerating US growth by operationalizing and executing the strategic vision of the MADEGOOD brand. You will lead the US marketing team, scaling brand growth, operational excellence, and consumer engagement. Your mandate includes building effective local campaigns, managing product portfolios, and leading cross-functional initiatives that achieve consumer and business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Alignment & Execution:
- Lead the adaptation of the global MADEGOOD brand strategy in the US —shaping and driving it to fit the unique dynamics of the market.
- Ensure alignment and synergy between global strategic initiatives and US operational execution.
- Participate actively in the global center of excellence, contributing US market insights to inform broader brand decisions.
Business Planning & Operational Effectiveness:
- Lead the development and execution of annual business plans to scale the MADEGOOD brand within the US.
- Manage product lifecycle strategically, including product segmentation, go-to-market plans, and SKU optimization in alignment with global guidelines.
- Develop and implement robust price-pack architecture informed by local market insights and aligned with global pricing strategies.
Brand Communications & Market Engagement:
- Develop localized brand communication plans that effectively leverage the global creative platform to drive consumer awareness, household penetration, and brand equity.
- Partner closely with internal creative and media teams to execute impactful campaigns across all consumer touchpoints, optimizing both upper and lower funnel tactics.
- Represent marketing in strategic customer meetings, equipping sales teams with compelling tools and narratives to drive growth.
Performance Metrics & Optimization:
- Establish and monitor clear, actionable KPIs aligned with global marketing objectives.
- Utilize data-driven analytics to refine market strategies, optimize marketing ROI, and continuously improve operational effectiveness.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Effectively manage and allocate the US marketing budget to maximize returns and support strategic initiatives.
People Leadership & Cultural Alignment:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing US brand team, fostering an inclusive and dynamic team culture aligned with Riverside’s core values of Teamwork, Ownership, Respect, Humility, Fun, Passion, Adaptability, and Grit.
- Model Riverside’s commitment to a triple-bottom-line approach—supporting people, planet, and profit in all strategic decisions and team interactions.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- 10+ years progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven track record in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), specifically in scaling brands effectively within the US market.
- Strong strategic thinking, operational rigor, and the capability to execute against clear KPIs.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills, able to effectively interface with global teams and cross-functional partners.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Location & Travel:
- Based in Chicago, IL, with periodic travel to Toronto (Global HQ) and other strategic locations as required.
