Why This Role Matters

We’re looking for a Senior People & Culture Business Partner based in Melbourne to partner globally with our Technology (Product and Engineering), Finance, Data/AI and Corporate functions across ROLLER.

You will be the most senior P&C Business Partner in APAC, reporting directly to the Chief Performance Officer, with executive-level relationships and high autonomy. You’ll roll up your sleeves to deliver impactful people initiatives that support high performance, engagement, development, and culture across the full employee lifecycle.

This role is a key member of ROLLER’s globally distributed People & Culture team and will collaborate closely with peers across APAC, EMEA, and AMER to create scalable, consistent, and high-impact people experiences globally.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and is passionate about helping technical and corporate teams scale effectively.

This role is based in Melbourne. We believe time in the office is critical for connection, collaboration and learning - so this role is minimum 3 days per week in the office.

 

What You'll Do

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted advisor - partnering with leaders on organisational design, talent management, engagement and enablement - translating business priorities into people strategies that support scalable growth
  • Use people data and insights to proactively identify trends, surface risks, and recommend actions that improve engagement, retention, and performance
  • Coach leaders through performance challenges and organisational change 

Talent, Performance & Leadership

  • Facilitate and continuously improve talent and performance processes including goal setting, talent reviews and calibration, performance management and career development 
  • Drive initiatives that build leadership capability and manager effectiveness — from coaching individual leaders to designing scalable programs
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen team culture, engagement, and belonging across globally distributed teams, particularly during periods of change and growth

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Provide pragmatic, commercially balanced guidance on employment legislation, ER matters, and people policies globally 
  • Partner closely with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition to ensure people operations run smoothly and scalably
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of P&C processes, systems, and frameworks as ROLLER scales globally

 

About You

You’re an experienced and commercially minded People & Culture professional who knows how to build trusted relationships, influence leaders, and drive meaningful outcomes in high-growth environments.

You’re equally comfortable sparring with Executives on people strategy, as you are rolling up your sleeves and crunching people data or supporting a performance meeting. This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity and can operate autonomously, confidently from day one.

You’ll likely bring:

  • 8+ years’ experience in HR / People & Culture, having help a Business Partner / Advisory role, ideally within technology or high-growth environments
  • Proven experience partnering with Executive and Senior Leaders across globally distributed teams
  • Strong business partnering capability across organisational design, leadership development, performance management, engagement, and change management
  • Experience supporting technical organisations such as Engineering, Product, Design, or IT teams is highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices, ideally across multiple regions
  • Experience managing complex employee relations matters with sound judgment and pragmatism
  • Strong appetite to be a hands-on executor 
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and people analytics tools (we are on HiBob)
