The Developer Relations Manager will be a key member of RunPod’s Product Experience Team, which is dedicated to optimizing every aspect of the external developer's interaction with our products. Aligned closely with RunPod's vision as the foundation for AI/ML workloads at scale, the team comprises multidisciplinary roles, including product managers, designers, technical writers, and developer relations. The Developer Relations function focuses on maintaining a strong connection with the developer community, ensuring that real user feedback is effectively communicated to influence continuous platform improvements. This role will work closely with the Product Shapers and Documentation teams to deliver a seamless, user-driven experience across all touchpoints.

Position Overview

As the Developer Relations Manager, you will serve as the primary advocate for RunPod’s developer community, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard throughout the product development lifecycle. You will be responsible for nurturing community relationships, facilitating two-way dialogue, and integrating developer feedback into product enhancements. This role is strategically important to RunPod's growth and influence in the AI/ML space, as it directly impacts developer engagement and product success.

You will have the freedom to innovate, make strategic decisions, and influence the direction of the Developer Relations function, ensuring that the community's needs are always at the forefront of product development.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Team Leader:
    • Grow the Developer Relations team, establishing a strong DevRel function within RunPod.Recruit, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performing, collaborative DevRel group.Grow the Developer Relations team, establishing a strong DevRel function within RunPod.
  • Content Strategist:
    • Lead the creation of high-quality content, including tutorials, guides, blog posts, and other educational materials, to help developers maximize their use of RunPod’s platform.
    • Establish RunPod as a thought leader in the AI/ML application space by developing content that showcases innovative solutions and strategies.
    • Collaborate with the Product Shapers and Documentation teams to ensure all content is clear, accurate, and aligned with developer needs.
  • Product Feedback Champion:
    • Handles interacting with dev community for feedback and engagement with surveys etc, then works with the PM to synthesize it into actionable insights. the PM is responsible for integrating it into the product roadmap and development lifecycle
    • Drive strategic initiatives to gather and analyze developer feedback, translating it into actionable product improvements.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that developer needs are considered in all stages of product development.
  • Community Advocate:
    • Nurture and grow a dynamic, supportive developer community through active engagement on platforms like Discord and other social channels.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative environment for developers to share knowledge, seek support, and collaborate on projects.
    • Identify and coordinate RunPod's participation in key conferences, meetups, and hackathons relevant to the AI/ML and cloud computing communities.

Core Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Developer Relations, Community Management, or a similar role within the tech industry.
  • 5+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong technical background with experience in AI/ML, cloud computing, or similar fields.
  • Proven track record of building and nurturing developer communities, with experience managing platforms like Discord, GitHub, or similar.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging content for a technical audience.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and technical writers.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a remote-first environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Shape Up or similar agile methodologies.
  • Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with RunPod’s platform and technologies, including Docker, Python, and cloud infrastructure.
  • A passion for AI/ML and a desire to contribute to the advancement of this field.
  • Experience organizing or participating in developer-focused events, such as conferences, meetups, and hackathons.
