About the Opportunity

Are you a storyteller at heart? Do you enjoy finding new and creative ways to tell these stories? Do you love seeing first-hand how your work drives results?

Salsify is seeking a content marketing manager to lead our content marketing team, owning the content strategy and editorial direction of our department to drive brand awareness and audience engagement and support lead generation.

As a team that prioritizes innovation and creativity, we’re excited to experiment with our content approach for our business-to-business (B2B) audience — and are seeking someone who wants to test and learn with us. From blogs, reports, and pillar pages to web pages, interactive content, and more — you'll help us ensure that our content boosts results across our organization.

This role will report to the director of growth marketing and work closely with web, design, and video teams, as well as cross-functionally with other marketing departments to support marketing campaigns.

Please submit your resume, a short cover letter that touches on your creative process, and two content marketing pieces you created that make you feel proud.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

  • Own the content strategy, editorial direction, and editorial calendar for the content marketing team, focusing on driving brand awareness and audience engagement and supporting lead-generation efforts through relevant, high-quality content.
  • Manage and oversee the core stages of the content marketing process — from research, ideation, and production to publication, promotion, measurement, and optimization — for a customer blog, prospect blog, and data-driven consumer research reports.
  • Manage and oversee the search engine optimization (SEO) strategy to drive organic search visibility, focusing on keyword research, competitive analysis, on-page SEO, and performance-driven initiatives, such as pillar pages, glossary pages, and other strategic content efforts.
  • Manage and mentor a team of in-house content marketing specialists and a network of freelance writers to ensure high-quality content that adheres to in-house content and AP Style guidelines.
  • Ensure content consistency across publishing channels, maintaining cohesive brand voice, messaging, and style that aligns with company standards and resonates with target audiences.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for content success and regularly track, report, and analyze content performance to optimize strategies and demonstrate return on investment (ROI).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, web, product marketing, and revenue marketing, to ensure alignment between content efforts and broader marketing and business initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of the latest industry trends, technologies, innovations, and emerging content marketing and SEO strategies to ensure the team remains forward-thinking, adaptive, and consistently ahead of the curve.

Here’s what you’ll bring to our team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, English, or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
  • Five or more years of experience working as a content marketing leader or in a related role, with at least one year of experience managing writers, editors, or other content creators.
  • Proven experience with content strategy development and execution, demonstrating your ability to drive brand awareness, audience engagement, and lead generation through relevant, high-quality content across multiple channels.
  • Strong project and team management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality content and on-time delivery through effective prioritization and organization.
  • Exceptional writing abilities across various short- and long-form content types, such as blogs, reports, newsletters, whitepapers, etc., demonstrating your ability to craft high-quality, engaging, and audience-focused copy.
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading abilities, with experience working with in-house and AP Stylebook guidelines, demonstrating your ability to ensure error-free, clean, and consistent copy.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices, with hands-on experience in keyword research, competitive analysis, and on-page SEO strategies, showcasing your ability to drive organic search visibility through performance-driven initiatives.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working alongside design, web, product marketing, and revenue marketing teams, ensuring alignment between content efforts and broader marketing and business initiatives.
  • Proven success in managing content performance using KPIs and analytics tools, showcasing your ability to track, report, and optimize content performance to demonstrate ROI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, English, or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.

You’ll get bonus points for bringing:

  • Experience creating content for a business-to-business (B2B) audience, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and strategies involved in driving engagement and supporting lead generation.
  • Experience with advanced data analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, BrightEdge) to track content performance and insights.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
