QA Engineer - LiveOps Automation

ES - Spain

Scopely is looking for a QA Engineer to join our LiveOps Automation team within our Midcore division in Spain on a remote basis.

The LiveOps Automation team are responsible for building a sophisticated suite of LiveOps tools powered by Machine Learning (ML) and data driven decision making to enhance player experience within Midcore games. Our goal is to gain a deep understanding of player behaviours and help shape curated, dynamic in-game experiences that enhance engagement and performance across our Midcore portfolio.

What You Will Do

  • Define and execute manual and automated test plans across frontend, backend, and LiveOps systems.
  • Design and maintain automated test suites for regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and LiveOps teams to identify test requirements and edge cases early in the development process.
  • Build and maintain testing frameworks to ensure consistent and reproducible validation of new features and releases.
  • Monitor, report, and triage defects; provide detailed diagnostics and assist developers in root-cause analysis.
  • Contribute to improving CI/CD pipelines by integrating quality gates, coverage metrics, and automated checks.
  • Validate data flow, API reliability, and UI performance across multiple environments.
  • Support release readiness reviews and post-deployment validation in production and staging environments.

What We're Looking For

  • A solid understanding of software QA methodologies, manual testing practices, and automation best practices.
  • 3+ years of experience testing web-based applications spanning frontend and backend layers.
  • Proficiency in automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for UI testing.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs using Postman, pytest, or Supertest.
  • Familiarity with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript for scripting automated tests.
  • Experience integrating tests within CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Strong experience with test data management, mocking, and environment configuration.
  • Familiarity with ML-driven systems, data pipelines, or event-driven architectures.
  • Comfort working in agile, cross-functional teams alongside developers and LiveOps stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills for clear bug reporting and technical collaboration.
