Manager, Technical Production - LiveOps Automation

Scopely is looking for a Manager, Technical Production to join our LiveOps Automation team within our Midcore division in Spain on a hybrid or remote basis.

The LiveOps Automation team are responsible for building a sophisticated suite of LiveOps tools driven by Machine Learning (ML) for enhancing player experience within Midcore games. This initiative will implicitly change how Midcore manages its games in perpetuity. 

What You Will Do

As Manager, Technical Production for the LiveOps Automation team, you'll lead and grow a team of technical producers who deliver platform-level machine learning capabilities and tools across multiple midcore game titles. You will set strategic direction, oversee production roadmaps, and ensure seamless execution across numerous high-impact initiatives. This role requires balancing strategic planning (70%) with tactical oversight (30%), interfacing closely with senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and engineering teams.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Technical Producers, fostering their growth and ensuring team effectiveness.
  • Define and drive the strategic vision for technical production, aligning platform-level and machine learning tool development roadmaps with long-term goals.
  • Oversee and manage delivery roadmaps and project execution across multiple concurrent projects and game teams.
  • Facilitate strategic alignment between product, engineering, and game leadership teams, ensuring initiatives are clearly scoped, prioritized, and executed effectively.
  • Anticipate operational challenges, proactively establishing robust processes, production pipelines, and frameworks to enable scalability and efficiency.
  • Provide regular, clear, and concise communication to senior leadership, capturing project statuses, risks, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Champion Agile methodologies and continuous improvement, facilitating key meetings, ceremonies, retrospectives, and postmortems.
  • Proactively identify and execute opportunities to improve team velocity, enhance feature delivery quality, and increase LiveOps content throughput.

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years of technical production experience.
  • Proven experience managing technical production teams, with a strong track record of delivering impactful results across multiple products or projects.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning capability, with experience defining and executing long-term production strategies.
  • Extensive experience managing multi-team initiatives and complex projects, effectively navigating dependencies and stakeholder expectations.
  • Solid understanding of Agile practices, software development lifecycles (SDLC), and experience driving process maturity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the proven ability to effectively articulate complex technical and business scenarios to diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Prior experience in people management, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and fostering high-performing teams.
