Lead, People Business Partner - Monopoly GO!

Scopely is looking for a Lead, People Business Partner to join our global People Team  and support one of our most innovative and high-impact game organizations, Monopoly GO!  This role will be based out of our Barcelona studio on a hybrid basis working 3 days a week from the hub.

What You Will Do 

The Lead, PBP will join a dynamic PBP Team dedicated to MGO, working closely with the VP and collaborating with our global team of PBPs, COEs, and business leaders. Our pod is built around partnership, feedback, and empowerment - where every member contributes beyond reporting lines, ensuring a holistic approach to People strategy for one of the most innovative game teams in the industry.

  • Partner with MGO senior leadership to shape and execute a People strategy that accelerates performance and strengthens the employee experience.
  • Align global talent philosophy with MGO’s unique needs, using data-driven insights to inform decisions, forecast talent needs, and improve organizational health.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leaders, providing thought partnership, coaching, and guidance through ambiguity, performance, and team dynamics.
  • Lead core talent programs—including succession planning, career pathing, performance calibration, and leadership development.
  • Identify capability gaps and partner with COEs to design and activate development initiatives at both studio and global levels.
  • Drive organizational design efforts that support scalable growth, clear structures, and effective operating models.
  • Lead change management efforts, ensuring communications, planning, and execution reinforce Scopely’s values and anticipate team needs.
  • Partner with ER and Legal to navigate complex employee matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant processes, including strong application of Spanish labor law.
  • Collaborate closely with global PBPs and COEs to ensure alignment, share best practices, and support initiatives across regions and time zones.
  • Mentor and influence others within the PBP team, contributing beyond scope and modeling a culture of partnership, feedback, and empowerment.
  • Act as a cultural and operational leader for the People team in Spain, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and empowered team environment across the Barcelona hub.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate strategy into actionable, scalable People initiatives.
  • Significant experience influencing and coaching senior leaders, ideally within a global, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated success in organizational design, talent management, and leading complex change.
  • High comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments where ambiguity is the norm.
  • Skilled at balancing strategic thinking with high-quality, timely execution.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse teams and global stakeholders.
  • Exceptional coaching, facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills; data-driven and insight-oriented.
  • Fluent in English with strong knowledge of Spanish labor law and employee relations practices.

Bonus Points 

  •  Spanish language skills highly preferred
  • Experience supporting global gaming or tech organizations
