Senior Finance Operations Manager
Leeds / Hybrid - 3 days per week from office (LS15 8ZB)

About the role:

Reporting to the EMEA Director, AP & AR, the Senior Finance Operations Manager is a critical role within the EMEA Accounting team, responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our operations finance processes, supporting the EMEA Director, AP & AR and Deputy in their absence. While a sole contributor role, this position requires strong leadership through collaboration and influence, driving alignment across multiple teams and managers.  

The ideal candidate will bring prior experience leading finance teams, combined with the ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, matrix environment. The role will focus on driving KPI performance, managing Voice of the Customer (VOC) outcomes, and leading continuous process creation / improvement to enhance operational excellence, global consistency and scalability in support of business growth. 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Act as deputy for the Finance Director and Deputy Finance Director when required. 
  • Lead through influence by partnering with managers across Finance and Business teams. 
  • Leverage people leadership experience to guide, mentor, and influence team leaders and staff, even without direct line responsibility. 
  • Build strong partnerships across functions and regions to ensure accountability, alignment, and delivery of business outcomes. 
  • A global thinker beyond regional role to support best practices across all regions. 

Finance Operations Oversight 

  • Oversee and coordinate the effectiveness of finance operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Deductions processes. 
  • Ensure operational accuracy, timely month-end close, and compliance with internal SOX controls, i.e. including execution of month end close for ledgers and inter-company accounts 
  • Monitor and drive improvements in key financial health metrics 

KPI / VOC Management 

  • Define, track, and report on KPIs and Voice of the Customer (VOC) performance. 
  • Analyze performance trends, identify issues, and collaborate with teams to resolve root causes. 
  • Communicate progress and improvement initiatives to senior leadership. 

Process Improvement & Transformation 

  • Day to day leadership of process improvement, standardization (within region and globally), automation, and continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience. 
  • Collaborate with technology and business teams to optimize ERP systems and reporting tools, i.e. including management and implementation of system ticketing requests 
  • Lead transformation and change management programs to facilitate successful adoption  

Governance & Compliance 

  • Ensure finance operations meet compliance, regulatory, and audit requirements, i.e. including management and implementation of audit requests and preparation of audit files  
  • Strengthen internal controls in collaboration with teams to minimize risks and safeguard company assets. 
  • Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors. 

Candidate Profile:

Experience & Background 

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance operations and accounting. This should include experience in shared services / global business services 
  • Proven experience in leading and managing finance teams, with ability to lead through influence in a collaborative environment. 
  • Strong track record in KPI management, VOC initiatives, and driving process improvements. 
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, or equivalent) and process automation.  Comfortable partnering closely with IT and system vendors to drive automation, manage system enhancements, and lead cross-functional technology initiatives. 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills with ability to lead across teams and functions, e.g. Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure processes and systems support the wider business. 
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in AP, AR and / or Deductions processes. 
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret KPIs/VOC data and translate into actionable outcomes. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel, data analysis, and reporting tools (Power BI preferred). 

Education & Certifications 

  • Relevant degree level qualification required 
  • Professional accounting qualification or progressing towards is preferred, i.e. ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent
