Job Description
Position: Contracts Manager
Location: Remote
Overview:
The Contracts Manager is responsible for leading all phases of contracting, including partnering with stakeholders, market analysis, vendor selection, RFI/RFP, and awarding contracts. The Contracts Manager must also identify and deliver cost savings while maximizing the value of spend. Additionally, the Contracts Manager will be instrumental in developing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors. The Contracts Manager will be the commercial lead on negotiations of agreements with Contractors.
We are looking for an ambitious candidate with initiative and resilience who can be responsible in working towards a goal while contributing creatively to the team.
Main Responsibilities:
Request for Proposals (RFP) Process
- Manage the creation of RFP documents and work with cross-functional teams (engineering, legal, finance, project management, project development, etc.) to ensure submission on required RFP documents.
- Analyze all RFP documents to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Lead all necessary pre-RFP meetings with team members to ensure the accuracy of the bid documents.
- Deliver all necessary bid documents to Contractors.
Bid Reviews
- Manage internal stakeholders’ evaluations of received bid documents and review for accuracy.
- Conduct bid analysis - identify risks, pricing, schedule, etc. between each proposal.
- Lead bid review meetings internally and externally.
- Present complete bid analysis with a recommendation to award to leadership.
Contracting
- Manage internal stakeholders’ evaluations of contract documents and review for accuracy.
- Direct strategic negotiations and make commercial decisions.
- Conduct internal meetings with SMEs to ensure contracting strategies are aligned with the company objectives.
- Conduct final review of contract documents and develop presentation to leadership for contract execution approval.
Pre-qualifications
- Manage communications with business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders, as necessary.
- Identify new vendors, and review prequalification documents associated with onboarding new vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Logistics, or in a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of solar or related experience.
- 2 - 4 years of EPC contracts experience, preferably in utility scale solar.
- Knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in conducting negotiations with vendors.
