We are partnering with a local India firm called Kaamwork to build out an Engineering presence in India.

 

Why are we hiring?

Within our Tools and Automation organization, the Test Platform Services (TPS) team builds and operates the platforms and automation that validate SimpliSafe’s end-to-end ecosystem — spanning the full product stack: connected cameras and sensors, base stations, firmware, cloud services, monitoring workflows, and mobile applications.

We enable scalable, production-like validation across hardware, firmware, and distributed software systems to ensure our devices behave correctly in real-world conditions and that critical customer journeys function reliably before reaching production.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale the validation platforms that power system-level confidence across engineering. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who thinks in systems, not scripts, and wants to solve complex platform and infrastructure challenges at the intersection of devices, cloud services, and automation.

This is a highly collaborative position partnering closely with Infrastructure, Backend, Firmware, Monitoring, and Product teams. It is ideal for an engineer who wants to have broad technical impact by building internal platforms and tooling that make validation faster, more reliable, and more scalable.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and evolve scalable validation platforms and services used across engineering
• Develop and maintain virtual device infrastructure, simulation capabilities, and production-like validation environments
• Build orchestration systems, APIs, and tooling that enable self-service and CI-integrated validation workflows
• Improve the reliability, observability, scalability, and cost efficiency of validation infrastructure
• Support performance, load, and resilience testing capabilities across validation platforms
• Partner cross-functionally with Infrastructure, Backend, Firmware, Monitoring, and Product teams to ensure validation systems evolve with product and architectural complexity
• Raise the bar on engineering quality by contributing strong system design, clean implementation, and pragmatic technical leadership within the team

What You’ll Bring

Required

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating distributed systems or cloud-native services
• Strong software design and object-oriented programming skills, with hands-on experience in Python and/or JavaScript
• Experience building and operating systems in AWS or similar cloud environments
• Experience building APIs, automation tooling, internal platforms, or developer-facing systems
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across service boundaries and system layers

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, or ephemeral environments
• Experience with device simulation, embedded systems, firmware-cloud integration, or IoT environments
• Experience building validation, orchestration, performance, or resilience testing systems
• Experience collaborating across teams and driving technical improvements in a growing engineering organization
