Program Manager

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager, with government agency experience, to oversee SIXGEN’s IC portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing program lifecycles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and optimizing program performance to achieve customer and company objectives.  You will be expected to collaborate and work with all levels of leadership and across teams throughout the program management process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in federal programs including managing IC customer relationships, contracts, and program schedules, deliverables, staffing, and financials. You will be responsible for understanding and meeting all contract requirements, providing monthly financial updates, and briefing quarterly program management reviews.  As SIXGEN’s Program Management processes continue to grow, you will be expected to review and update current processes, and in some cases build new procedures.

This role resides in our Defense and IC Division and reports to our various IC Organization Account Leads. This position is hybrid, with some travel to our Annapolis, MD office;  Hanover, MD office; and customers/staff located throughout the local DMV area as required.

SIXGEN supports cyber and intelligence missions by serving government and commercial organizations as they overcome global cybersecurity challenges. We simulate adversaries and malicious actors to report details and actionable findings on critical assets and infrastructures. Our program planners advise mission owners to bring rapid solutions to intelligence mission leaders. Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Program Manager for multiple IC customer contracts and associated task orders
  • Oversee and monitor program performance, schedule, deliverables, and operating costs to ensure compliance with contract, customer, and company requirements
  • Ensure proper utilization of work force, materials, funds, facilities, and equipment to meet company financial objectives
  • Forecast and monitor monthly labor hours and ODC/travel expenditures across base and option years
  • Coordinate with finance team to analyze program financial health including direct and indirect costs and gross profit margins 
  • Coordinate with contracts team to review contract modifications and provide timely notifications of program impacts or risks 
  • Establish and maintain frequent customer contact and visitations to manage customer expectations, understand and execute customer requirements, resolve customer concerns, and build a life-long customer relationship for the company
  • Provide leadership, objectives, incentives, and positive attitude to assigned staff that result in a quality program
  • Review and approve staff timesheets and monthly invoices
  • Assist with recruiting efforts for open positions including writing open position descriptions, reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and recommending hiring go/no go decisions 
  • Maintain and organize all program-related corporate records  
  • Support follow-on business associated with established programs or support customer-related new business development by assisting Account Leads in proposal efforts as required 
  • Identify areas to mature Program Management processes across the company and work with contracts and finance to implement process improvement    

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technical, or related discipline
  • Five or more years’ experience as a program manager in managing programs, contracts, and subcontracts of various scope ($1M+), type, and complexity 
  • Knowledgeable of the guidelines provided by the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), DoD 5000 series, and ICD 801 policies. 
  • Direct experience coordinating, prioritizing, reporting and documenting completion of deliverables and CDRL items, as well as tracking metrics on level of effort and status of the overall effort.
  • Complete understanding of contract cost and pricing principles 
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of various computer programs (i.e., Power Point, Excel, Word, and Project)
  • US Citizen is required
  • Experience with Unanet preferred
  • Active TS/SCI clearance preferred. 
  • PMP, FAC-P/PM Mid-Level, or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level 2 certification in Program Management preferred.

At SIXGEN, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The anticipated salary range for this role is $90,000-130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our compensation philosophy, which takes into account various factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, skills, LCATs rates and position level, and market competitiveness. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation to include our growth incentive program, incentives and benefits. The final salary offer will be determined after a thorough review of the candidate's background and alignment with the role. Please note that this range is subject to change and should be considered as a guideline rather than a definitive figure.
