Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live across four continents, with more than 50 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solutions that seamlessly roam between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.
This role is located Mountain View, CA where we are onsite 3 days a week in office.
Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo
Skylo is hiring a Senior Manager of People Operations to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This individual will support a myriad of HR, recruiting and employee-related activities, including recruitment, on/offboarding, compliance, payroll, culture, employee engagement, and performance processes.
How You Will Contribute
- Support the execution of all People Operations processes and procedures related to the entire employee life-cycle; conduct regular review for optimization and scalability.
- Assist in the full recruitment cycle for key positions, driving talent acquisition strategies and ensuring a seamless onboarding process for new hires.
- Manage the new hire on-boarding experience. Own all on-boarding processes and procedures. Continually review for scalable optimization.
- Manage the employee off-boarding process. Continually review for scalable optimization.
- Collaborate with regional HR leads across multiple global locations to manage local HR operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives and local compliance.
- Support employees and managers, addressing concerns, providing guidance on policies, and fostering a supportive work environment while working with the Global VP, People & Talent.
- Manage HR systems (including the HRIS), and processes that are efficient, scalable, and data-driven.
- Assist in compensation structures, manage benefits programs.
- Support the performance review process, employee feedback, and development plans, including initiatives for employee engagement and retention.
- Support the VP of People and Talent to plan and execute employee engagement programs locally in Mountain View, CA, and in Skylo’s global locations (Finland, India).
- Collaborate with Payroll to respond to, and act on all regulatory notices related to employees.
- Provide useful data to help guide decision making, and allow the company to scale effectively and efficiently.
- Identify and recommend methods to automate, simplify, and enhance processes, procedures, and technology to support the full cycle employee experience.
- Support in the planning and execution of local company events, staff meetings, and team-building activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree or above in an HR-focused field of study preferred.
- 7 years of experience as solid People Operations lead, preferably in a high growth tech environment required.
- Must show documented proficiency in project management - from project design to evaluation required.
- Proven experience in supporting the execution of full-stack recruiting processes and managing HR functions in multiple global locations (US/Europe/India experience preferred).
- Experience with immigration processes and compliance is highly preferred.
- Experience in a growth-stage startup environment is highly preferred. Ability to both “think and do”.
- Experience having implemented and run a workforce management system (such as TriNet or Rippling), managing benefits, payroll, and compensation is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in meeting exceptionally high standards in a high volume, fast-paced & hands-on environment preferred.
- Attention to detail; experience with people analytics, metrics and business consulting skills preferred.
- Ability to diagnose problems with strategic thinking skills, as well as drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative preferred.
- Ability to influence managers/leaders with data-driven recommendations to improve performance, retention and employee experience preferred.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to effectively support and connect with a diverse team.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.

Additional information
The compensation range for this position is: $160,000 - $184,000. This range reflects the low and high end of the range Skylo reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role.
