Staff Platform Engineer
Role
We are seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to architect, build, and operate a development platform that other teams will use to build products and services. The ideal candidate is a skilled programmer that knows how to build reusable and scalable system capabilities with Kuberntes and AWS.
This role is fully remote within the US.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and drive out the design and capabilities of the SmarterDx development platform.
- Build, deploy, maintain, and monitor common AWS infrastructure with Terraform.
- Build capabilities using Kubernetes custom controllers in Go and deploy common libraries in Python and Typescript to utilize common data, observability, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure the security of our clients’ data by building secure patterns into the fabric of the system in close collaboration with Security Engineering.
- Support the SmarterDx platform in production, applying an SRE mindset and toolkit.
- Research and advocate for improved techniques, processes, and designs within the team.
Your qualities
- 12-15+ years of development experience, with a focus on backend and cloud-based solutions.
- 4+ years of hands-on production work with cloud infrastructure, containers, monitoring, and alerting
- 3+ years in a security-conscious environment
- Expertise with Terraform and Kubernetes
- Experience with Go and Python, especially using Kubernetes APIs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools like AirFlow and dbt.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar data warehouses.
- Prior experience in the healthcare sector.

Compensation
- $200K to $250K base salary + equity
