Director, Performance Management (Growth Marketing)

San Mateo, CA or London

The PlayStation Store & Services Marketing team is responsible for marketing our flagship PlayStation Plus subscription service, and PlayStation’s multi-billion-dollar D2C businesses (PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct).

This role is a pivotal leadership role in the team accountable for the strategic implementation of performance focused marketing, dedicated to supporting profitable business growth & successful customer outcomes by harvesting incremental demand & driving recurring relationships

Responsibilities:

Leading cross portfolio & performance management functions with 3 strategic pillars of focus;

Performance Optimization:

  • Strategy: accountable for; producing a clear marketing strategy aligned with commercial goals, whilst collaborating with other marketing function to ensure its successful execution.
  • Media Planning: Working with media teams to ensure there is a clearly defined media plan for any store & services paid media activity including media allocation (mix/channel/markets).
  • Budgeting/Forecasting: Translate strategies into detailed annual, quarterly & monthly budgets (split by product/service campaigns & regions). Work closely with Finance to update forecasts on a regular basis & provide recommendations for budget re-allocation
  • Reporting: Analyze, track, report and forecast on key performance metrics, identifying areas of opportunity for program performance across all marketing channels to support company’s growth targets and drive future strategies.
  • Measurement; partner with the Finance, Data Science, and Analytics teams to develop a measurement stack to supervise and improve channel performance & evolve marketing attribution and incrementality.
  • Experimentation; responsible for building and defining a clear experimentation agenda & roadmap across store and services, ensuring tests are linked to business goals & commercial plans.

Performance Governance:

  • Market Optimization; Work with territory marketing teams, to spot and act on demand opportunities within individual markets to improve growth.
  • Cross portfolio planning; Work with vertical & horizontal marketing teams to ensure there is holistic planning of activity (across portfolio & vertical).

Leadership

  • Leadership: Building, leading & developing a small team of growth marketing specialists across multiple geographic locations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Be the main point of contact & marketing lead for key vertical commercial & Marketing stakeholder teams from manager to SVP level.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in performance marketing roles preferably across the entrainment vertical
  • A history of successfully operating in sophisticated global organizations and being able to influence growth
  • A background of performance management and marketing governance
  • Have worked in roles leading large media budgets 
  • A strong leader who has led geographically dispersed teams
  • Comfortable leading senior (VP/C-level) executive stakeholders
