Animator - This is a 6 month contract scheduled to start in August - will be remote, any province in Canada - Looking for 3+ contractors at mid and senior level. Please include a reel that shows cinematic, body and facial work.  

PlayStation Studios Visual Arts. 

We provide world-class content, development, and services to PlayStation Studios and accommodate remote positions. Our team is always at the cutting edge of technology and partners with the industry's best minds and companies. We are looking for an Animator who is proficient in all aspects of high-quality animation. This person needs to be organized, focused, self-motivated, and thoughtful in all interactions. 

Responsibilities: 

  •  Adapt to multiple processes, workflows, toolsets, and styles for keyframe and motion capture production 
  • Create AAA quality animation according to the direction of supervisors and leads 
  • while adhering to metric and schedule 
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors, management, production, and staff daily 
  • Address feedback and notes on all work to the best of their ability 
  • Block out and present concept ideas to leads and supervisors 
  • Communicate technical issues to leads 
  • Be present with all renders and notes prepared for all reviews 
  • Create video reference to supplement assignments where necessary 
  • Understand all animation tools being used on the project - both internally and client-developed 
  • Identify potential risks to delivery timelines 

Qualifications: 

  • Animation experience in the entertainment industry 
  • Working knowledge of Maya 
  • Eye for character animation movement and aesthetic 
  • Flexibility to handle changes in direction, yet work within defined procedures 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Understanding of Motion Builder 
  • Knowledge of pipelines, workflows, and toolsets used in key frame and motion 
  • capture animation 
  • Familiarity with AAA facial animation workflows 
  • Experience with FACS based rigs 
  • Has worked directly in game-engine builds or devkits 
  • Comfortable working in a global team environment
