Full-Stack Software Engineer

San Mateo, CA
 

We are looking for a full-stack software engineer to join our agile high-performance Dev Team and contribute to the Best Place to Play. You will apply your software development skills and Web technologies to delight our users with innovative features. You will work and collaborate daily with a diverse team dedicated to excellence, inclusion, and fun. Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to design and develop end-to-end RNPS/Javascript-based applications in the front-end, or Java/JS/Graph QL in the backend, delivering highly scalable applications running on the PS5 console.

  • Collaborate with UX designers and Product Management on requirements.

  • Investigate and Resolve reported Defects and work with the QE team members to close on the issues.

  • Work on continuous improvement of software, by profiling, refactoring and optimizing the code.

  • Work with limited supervision under tight time constraints and respond to rapidly evolving requirements.

  • Own sharable features and components across several projects and be accountable for the results.

  • Ability to support and develop SDK/Sample Programs in native C++ code as needed

  • Ability to develop server components
     

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will be evaluated.

  • Solid base in Computer Science, understanding of OOP, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.

  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • 2+ years of experience with designing and developing apps, plus experience in services integration.

  • Strong programming skills using JavaScript, RNPS, Java, HTML5, CSS3, JSON. Knowledge of C/C++

  • Experience in Java or other server programming languages like Python

  • Passionate about quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs well.

  • A collaborative teammate, a fast learner, with a positive and can-do attitude.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with popular JavaScript UI frameworks (such as Ember and Angular), Node.js, and Restful APIs.

  • Experience writing multi-threaded applications

  • Understanding on how to develop high scale, distributed systems for information retrieval, such as Lecene/Elastic search, or Solr

  • Works with Docker and Kubernetes in current role

  • Built and developed Cloud-based applications or services, preferably in AWS

  • Built and developed GraphQL-based applications

  • Understanding on how to leverage AI technologies to improve development efficiency

  • Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, Graph databases.

  • Experience working with GitHub source code management, and CI/CD frameworks.

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.

  • Experience working in Gaming, Digital Media Services, Device Software.

  • Experience working with a large multi-cultural team that values collaboration and inclusive professional conduct.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$157,300 - $187,600 USD
