Sony Pictures Imageworks is Looking for an Associate Production Accountant!

Job Description

As the Associate Production Accountant, you’ll be working with the Production Finance Team to service (digital) Producers and Sr. Management to successfully execute Animation and VFX projects. We are a team of 6 and, due to company growth, are looking for another great person to add to our team. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the VFX and animation process while also developing your professional abilities in a fast paced environment. 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support (digital) Producers in Budgeting and cost tracking across Animation and VFX projects
  • Assist in preparing weekly Estimated Final Cost (EFC) reporting and artist productivity planning reports for Production and our clients.
  • Support Production Accountants with month-end and quarterly show reporting, assisting in variance reconciliation and other ad-hoc requests.
  • Additional production related accounting functions as needed.
  • Perform financial analysis on an as needed basis.

Required Experience/Skills

  • 3+ years of Work Experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google suite
  • Experience with SAP is an asset, but not required.
  • VFX industry knowledge is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong analysis/interpretation skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-show production environment and prioritize work and remain detail oriented.
  • Ability to collaborate with various partners.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $55,000 to $65,000/yr. Benefits are per company policy: which include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSP's, Sick and Vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
