Senior Product Designer, Fan Experience

Berlin
SoundCloud empowers artists and fans to connect and share through music. Founded in 2007, SoundCloud is an artist-first platform empowering artists to build and grow their careers by providing them with the most progressive tools, services, and resources. With over 400+ million tracks from 40 million artists, the future of music is SoundCloud.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help shape the next chapter of SoundCloud’s fan experience, creating products that feel alive, personal and culturally relevant.

You’ll design experiences that help listeners rediscover what they love and build stronger connections to music, artists and each other. This means going beyond pixels, designing experiences that feel human, emotional and connected.

You’ll collaborate closely with PMs, UX researchers and engineers from the start, testing ideas early, exploring multiple design directions and iterating fast. You’ll also help evolve our design system and contribute to go-to-market moments that tie product and culture together.

This role is perfect for a designer who moves comfortably between exploration and refinement, who values both big ideas and beautiful execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and iterate on end-to-end experiences that deepen fan engagement and connection
  • Explore multiple design directions to solve complex problems with creativity, clarity and visual excellence
  • Partner with UX researchers to translate insights into clear, actionable design solutions without getting stuck in the process
  • Collaborate with engineers to bring designs to life, refining interaction details and ensuring quality through implementation
  • Work closely with PMs to align on product goals, shaping strategies that balance user value with business outcomes
  • Contribute to and help evolve our design system for flexibility, scalability and strong visual foundations
  • Occasionally partner with marketing and brand teams on go-to-market and App Store moments that extend the SoundCloud experience
  • Advocate for design that feels modern, human and culturally connected with a tone and style that resonates with younger audiences
  • Balance craft and speed, knowing when to explore widely and when to focus deeply

Experience and Background:

  • 5+ years of experience designing digital products end-to-end
  • A portfolio that demonstrates interstellar visual craft, original thinking and clear problem-solving. We want to see how you explore
  • Confident working through multiple design approaches, not just polishing one idea
  • Excellent sense of layout, typography, composition and motion
  • Collaborative by nature, you thrive when partnering early with PMs, UX researchers and engineers to align on user needs and business goals
  • Strong systems thinker who can design for scale without losing soul
  • Curious about culture and behavior, especially how Gen Z interacts with music, media, and self-expression
  • Comfortable using Figma; Adobe Creative Suite or motion design skills are a plus

Why This Role Matters:

SoundCloud has always been about discovery. Now we’re reimagining how fans experience that discovery in a more personal, expressive way. You’ll design experiences that don’t just look good but feel right, intuitive, emotional and true to SoundCloud’s spirit.

Why You’ll Love It Here:

  • A design culture that values exploration, autonomy and feedback
  • The opportunity to work closely with researchers, engineers and creative partners who care deeply about quality
  • Work that blends product design, culture, and music, reaching millions of fans

How to Apply:

Show us how you think. We’d love to see explorations, early sketches, prototypes and not just polished screens. Tell us about your process, what inspired your choices, and how you arrived at your final design.

About us:

  • We are a multinational company with offices in the US (New York and Los Angeles), Germany (Berlin), and the UK (London)
  • We provide a flexible work culture that offers the opportunity to collaborate and connect in person at our offices as well as accommodating work from home
  • We are deeply committed to ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion at all levels of our organization and fostering a community where everyone’s voice, perspective and experience is respected and heard.
  • We believe a strong team is made by investing in employees through mentorship, workshops and enrichment opportunities

Benefits:

  • Not located in Berlin? No worries, we offer extensive relocation support including allowances, one way flights, temporary accommodation and, by partnering with Expath, on the ground support on arrival
  • Interested in a gym membership, photography course or book? We have a Creativity and Wellness benefit!
  • Employee Equity Plan
  • Generous professional development allowance
  • Flexible vacation and public holiday policy where you can take up to 35 days of PTO annually
  • We offer free German courses at beginning, intermediate and advanced
  • Various snacks, goodies, and 2 free lunches weekly when at the office
