Senior Accounting Manager

SoundHound AI believes every person should be able to interact naturally with the products around them–by simply talking. With a global reach spanning two dozen languages, we build Voice AI products with conversational intelligence for cars, restaurant ordering, and more, allowing our customers to extend their brand in new and meaningful ways.

At SoundHound, our exceptionally talented employees are our greatest resource. Our goal is to provide a workplace environment that allows them to do their best, innovative work; one that creates a remarkable “employee experience” from first impression onward. The Senior Accounting Manager is crucial to our success in this mission, by ensuring SoundHound manages stable, accurate reporting processes to scale and expand our global reach.

The Senior Accounting Manager will be an integral member of SoundHound’s accounting/finance team, will report to the SVP, Controller, and will own the global general ledger.

In this role, you will manage:

  • Support subsidiary accounting teams (GL operations/GAAP compliance) as SoundHound
    grows.
  • In a hands-on and proactive manner, collaborate across SoundHound teams and subsidiary teams to improve efficiencies and lead timely period-closes and consolidations
  • Manage, mentor, review, and fill gaps of subsidiary operational accounting workstreams (workpapers, journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis).
  • Manage intercompany entries and consolidation of financial data necessary for accurate business subsidiary/consolidated results
  • Support SOX 404b internal controls compliance as subsidiaries are integrated
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes and systems as needed to support
    scalability
  • Ad-hoc as assigned

We would love to hear from you if:

  • You have substantial hands-on equity and payroll accounting experience
  • You are obsessively detail-oriented and leave nothing to chance
  • You hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • You earned a degree in accounting
  • You have 12+ years (or 8+ years with a Master’s degree) of relevant experience
  • You independently research and apply accounting/reporting principles and maintain a solid knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations
  • You have experience with SOX 404b compliant, Large Accelerated Filer processes and you are comfortable with applicable cross-functional coordination to establish and maintain applicable controls.
  • You have strong team leadership and project management skills, along with the ability to independently and simultaneously manage overlapping projects
  • You have strong analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills

We’d be especially excited if you have experience as a Big-4 auditor and hands-on experience with NetSuite, UKG, and Shareworks.

This role is available throughout the United States except for the following 15 states: AL, AK, DE, IA, ME, MS, MO, NH, ND, RI, SC, VT, WV, WI, and WY. Employees within a 60-mile radius of our Santa Clara, CA office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled, company-wide “core days” each month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration. Aside from these core days, this job allows for virtual/remote, hybrid, and in-office workplace setting options. The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 plus equity. In addition to salary and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits.
