What You Will Do and Learn
We are seeking an experienced Anaplan Technical Director to join our Anaplan Delivery practice. This role is critical to our success and spans pre‑sales solutioning, architecture ownership, and hands‑on delivery leadership across enterprise Anaplan implementations.
The ideal candidate is a senior Anaplan expert who embodies The Anaplan Way, understands how to design high‑performing and scalable models, and can translate complex business requirements into elegant Anaplan solutions while leading delivery teams and guiding clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre‑Sales & Solution Advisory
- Act as a trusted solution advisor to prospective clients, engaging executive sponsors and senior stakeholders to understand enterprise planning, modeling, and connected decision‑making requirements.
- Lead Discovery and Solution Design workshops, mapping business needs to Anaplan Connected Planning use cases across Finance, Workforce, Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations.
- Design and present Anaplan solution demonstrations using UX Pages that highlight model architecture, user experience, performance, scalability, and value realization.
- Partner with Sales and Engagement leadership to qualify opportunities, contribute to RFP/RFQ responses, and define winning solution approaches aligned with Anaplan best practices.
- Provide thought leadership on Anaplan platform capabilities, use‑case alignment, and architectural patterns during sales cycles.
Solution Architecture & Design
- Own the end‑to‑end Anaplan solution architecture, ensuring alignment to client strategy, long‑term roadmap, and Connected Planning vision.
- Translate functional and business requirements into scalable Anaplan model designs, including:
- List and hierarchy strategy
- Module design and dimensionality
- Calculation logic and data flow
- Model-to-model connectivity
- Enforce adherence to Anaplan Best Practices and the Performance Optimization Framework, including sparsity management, formula efficiency, and model sizing strategies.
- Define Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) strategy, including development, test, and production environments, deployment approach, and release management.
- Architect data integration solutions, leveraging Anaplan CloudWorks, APIs, Anaplan Connect, or enterprise ETL tools for inbound and outbound data flows.
- Design security and governance models, including role‑based access, tenant administration considerations, and Center of Excellence (CoE) alignment.
- Partner on advanced capabilities such as HyperModeling, Custom Analysts & other AI products, Management Reporting, and UX personalization where applicable.
Delivery Leadership and Technical Governance
- Serve as the Technical Lead and Solution Architect across the full project lifecycle from design through build, UAT, deployment, and hypercare.
- Own technical delivery quality, ensuring Anaplan solutions meet performance, scalability, maintainability, and auditability standards.
- Lead and mentor Anaplan Model Builders, conducting design reviews, and reinforcing Anaplan standards and patterns.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Engagement Leads to manage scope, risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical challenges, working with internal leadership and Anaplan Product Support as needed.
- Support client enablement, adoption, and long‑term success by promoting effective governance, documentation, and CoE principles.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise planning, analytics, or performance management solutions, with 4+ years in an Anaplan Solution Architect or Technical Lead role.
- Deep expertise in the Anaplan platform, including:
- Multi‑dimensional model design
- Performance optimization and scalability
- ALM and deployment strategy
- UX Pages and Management Reporting
- Proven track record leading enterprise level full‑cycle Anaplan implementations across multiple planning domains.
- Deep understanding of business processes related to FP&A, Sales Performance Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience architecting Anaplan integrations using CloudWorks, APIs, Anaplan Connect, or enterprise integration platforms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for both business and technical audiences.
- Anaplan architect certification (Certified Solution Architect or Certified Master Anaplanner) strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

Spaulding Ridge is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position in the United States across locations is reflected below. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will be determined based on a range of factors, including skills, experience, qualifications, and location. Please note that the range provided is subject to change at any time in accordance with internal policies and applicable law.
Salary Range
$140,000 - $210,000 USD
