Senior Director, Growth Marketing

Detroit, MI

Help empower our global customers to connect to culture through their passions.

Why you’ll love this role

Growth at StockX is not a support function. It is a competitive weapon.

We're looking for a Senior Director of Growth to lead the acquisition of new buyers at scale — someone who combines rigorous performance marketing discipline with genuine fluency in current culture. You'll own the channels, the budget, the team, and the strategy that brings the next generation of StockX buyers through the door.

This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CMO, with visibility across the executive team and meaningful influence over how StockX competes for market share against the competition. You'll inherit a strong foundation and a clear brief: grow faster, grow smarter, and grow in a way that builds lasting brand equity alongside short-term acquisition efficiency.

What you'll do

New buyer acquisition: You are accountable for driving net-new buyers to StockX — setting acquisition targets, owning the strategy to hit them, and building the measurement infrastructure to understand what is working and why. This includes full-funnel thinking from first exposure to first purchase, with particular focus on acquiring buyers by capturing and generating demand.

Paid channel optimization: Own and optimize StockX's performance marketing portfolio including Google Shopping, Paid Social (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest), YouTube, and OTT/CTV. You will be expected to improve efficiency and scale simultaneously — not one at the other's expense. You understand the difference between last-click ROAS and true incremental return, and you build measurement frameworks accordingly.

Creator-led growth: Scale StockX's creator affiliate and partnership program as a performance channel. You understand that in a culture-driven category, creators are not just a brand tool — they are a direct acquisition and conversion lever. You will build the infrastructure, the partner tiers, and the attribution model that makes creator-led growth measurable, scalable, and structurally defensible.

AI efficiencies: Leverage AI to drive efficiencies in our marketing organization including surfacing strategic opportunities, monitoring campaign management and development of performance creative assets via Gen-AI.

Team and agency leadership: Lead an internal growth marketing team and manage StockX's relationships with external growth marketing agencies. You set the strategic direction, hold partners accountable to outcomes, and develop the internal team's capabilities over time. You are the kind of leader people want to work for — clear, demanding, fair, and genuinely invested in building great marketers.

Measurement and attribution: Own StockX's growth measurement stack. You are fluent in the trade-offs between MTA models, incrementality testing, and marketing mix modeling. You do not accept last-click as the source of truth, and you know how to build the business case for brand investment using the language of finance teams.

Cross-functional influence: Partner closely with the Brand, Product, Analytics, and Finance teams. Growth at StockX does not operate in isolation — you will need to influence product roadmaps, align with finance on budget planning, and collaborate with brand on how acquisition and awareness work together across the funnel.

About You

Experience:

  • 8-10 years in growth or performance marketing, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role managing teams and significant budgets
  • Demonstrated track record of scaling paid acquisition across Google, Meta, TikTok, and video channels (YouTube / OTT) for a consumer marketplace, e-commerce, or culturally relevant consumer brand
  • Experience building or scaling creator affiliate or influencer-as-performance programs — not just awareness partnerships
  • Fluency in growth measurement: you have run incrementality tests, worked with MMM vendors, and navigated the attribution conversation with finance leadership
  • Experience managing agency relationships and holding external partners to clear performance standards
  • Experience leveraging AI tools in growth marketing, including campaign optimization, audience targeting, creative generation, and performance analysis

Skills and attributes:

  • Strategically sharp and commercially fluent — you can build a business case as well as a media plan
  • Genuinely curious about sneaker culture, streetwear, and the communities that drive demand on StockX. You don't need to be a sneakerhead, but you need to understand what makes this category different from general e-commerce
  • Strong communicator — you can present a growth strategy to the CMO and a test-and-learn framework to an analyst with equal clarity
  • Data-driven but not data-bound — you know when the numbers are telling you something and when they aren't, and you trust your judgment in the gap
  • Low ego, high standards — you care about outcomes, not credit

Nice to have skills

  • Experience at a two-sided marketplace (buyer and seller dynamics)
  • Background in a category with strong resale or secondary market dynamics (sneakers, luxury, collectibles, gaming)
  • Experience building growth programs in international markets

Pursuant to the various pay transparency laws/acts, the pay range is $200,000 to $220,000 annually, plus opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), equity and discretionary bonuses. Compensation is dependent on geography and may vary.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and any other state or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation.
