Learning & Development Specialist
How you’ll make an impact:
As a Learning & Development Specialist on our team, you will empower team members to develop the skills they need to excel in their roles, driving both individual and organizational success. You’ll foster individual growth and drive organizational success by designing and delivering impactful learning initiatives. Day-to-day, you’ll blend creativity, collaboration, content creation, program management, and facilitation to craft learning solutions that address evolving business needs.
A Day in the Life
- Design and develop comprehensive and engaging asynchronous (eLearning, microlearning, videos, guides, job aids) and instructor-led (virtual and in-person) learning experiences aligned with organizational goals and best practices.
- Source and develop relevant content that aligns with industry trends, emerging best practices, and business needs to ensure learning programs remain relevant and effective
- Expertly facilitate live in-person and virtual learning events, including organization programs, with an emphasis on participation, engagement and application.
- Partner with key business stakeholders across Strata to assess needs, translate challenges into effective learning solutions, and drive adoption of learning programs.
- Manage training calendar, communications, enrollment, and attendance records, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.
- Assess the effectiveness of learning programs through surveys, feedback, and performance metrics, making improvements as necessary.
- Work closely with Team Development, department heads and People Operations to align training initiatives with organizational goals and employee development plans.
- Stay informed on modern learning modalities, best practices, and industry insights to continually enhance personal and team effectiveness

What we’re looking for:
- 3 years of experience in an L&D environment with a focus on content creation, facilitation, and instructional design
- Prior experience as a teacher, instructional design, trainer, or in the people operations preferred
- Understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design methodologies, and training best practices based on training topics and the learner’s needs
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, multimedia tools, and other training technologies
- Proficiency in eLearning tools such as Articulate Rise is preferred; video editing experience is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication to convey concepts clearly and ability to tailor delivery methods to various learning styles and needs
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
- A passion for learning and development
- A positive, solution-oriented attitude, viewing mistakes as opportunities to gain clarity, alignment, and learn
- Experience collaborating across departments to achieve shared goals
- Ability to identify training needs; analyzing learning barriers, and dev
Estimated Salary Range: $59,000 - 72,000
Actual salary will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skill set and level of experience. This salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Strata also provides discretionary variable pay programs based on role. In addition, Strata provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits, health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental leave, life and accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.
How we work:
The preferred location for this role is in Chicago, IL or St. Louis, MO. We value our people spending time together and have campuses hosting in-person events located in both cities. We are truly a hybrid environment with all team members experiencing the flexibility to work from home.
