SIG’s Higher Education client is seeking an experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to provide technical leadership, architectural oversight, and strategic guidance for multi-cloud Salesforce initiatives. This role supports enterprise-level CRM strategy, data integration, and platform governance while ensuring the environment remains scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives.

About the Role

The Architect will work closely with business and IT stakeholders, lead technical teams, and shape the long-term CRM roadmap. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Salesforce expert to drive high-impact digital transformation initiatives.

Successful candidates will have work experience in higher education and be driven by the mission of education. This is a contract role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable Salesforce architecture supporting multiple functional areas.
  • Develop and guide the organization’s Salesforce roadmap, governance practices, and platform strategy.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for Salesforce integrations, security, data modeling, and multi-cloud architecture.
  • Oversee solution design, configuration, and customization across Sales, Service, Marketing, and Education Clouds.
  • Conduct architecture reviews to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to Salesforce developers and administrators, establishing standards for coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Partner with project managers to define scope, timeline, risks, and resource needs for Salesforce initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation for governance, system design, and operational processes.
  • Lead proof-of-concept efforts exploring new Salesforce capabilities and emerging technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to accessibility, privacy, and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute as a senior member of the organization’s Salesforce Center of Excellence, promoting platform adoption and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience serving as a Salesforce Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Developer.
  • Hands-on expertise with multi-cloud Salesforce implementations and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce configuration, customization, APIs, and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica, Ethos).
  • Deep knowledge of Salesforce data architecture, security, and development lifecycle practices.
  • Experience with release management tools such as Copado, Gearset, or Flosum.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern DevOps practices.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Salesforce Certified Application Architect and Salesforce Certified Integration Architect.

Preferred Skills

  • Salesforce Certified System Architect.
  • OmniStudio Consultant or Developer certification.
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA).
  • Education Cloud or Marketing Cloud experience.
  • Experience in nonprofit or education-oriented environments.
  • Background in integrating Salesforce with analytics ecosystems (e.g., Tableau CRM).
  • Experience with industry data models and OmniStudio configuration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Commitment to security, compliance, and accessibility best practices.

 

Pay range 

Contractor rates begin at $80+/hour

 

The listed salary range for this position is indicative and subject to adjustment based on the candidate's unique skills and location. Final compensation will be determined through mutual agreement between the successful candidate and SIG.
