
Mission Support & Launch Logistics Specialist
Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. The Mission Support & Launch Logistics Specialist will serve as a critical member of the Mission Operations team, helping plan, organize and execute on-site and deployed support activities for both personnel and hardware. This person shall provide centralized support across all of the Stratolaunch departments for mission execution. As part of a hardworking team of flight operations experts, maintainers, and ground operators, the Mission Support & Launch Logistics Specialist is focused on providing attentive and efficient support for our Mission Operations team members, from pre-deployment planning to post-mission recovery. In addition, he/she will support logistics and execution of events, both internal and external, associated with each mission. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe and successful hypersonic missions that meet our customers’ needs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform logistics and administrative job duties relating to hypersonic missions within the continental U.S. and overseas.
- Manage complex calendars across programs within Stratolaunch.
- Liaising and contract negotiating with vendors. Working closely with internal procurement teams to ensure appropriate contract terms are met and followed.
- Develop internal documentation and review contracts and proposals to ensure agreed commitments and accountability; escalate as needed. Working with Procurement leadership to ensure that all obligations are met with vendors domestically and internationally.
- Develop and ensure travel plans, itineraries, and agendas for Stratolaunch deployment teams with up to 50 members.
- Compile accurate documentation for travel-related events including passports, visas, airfare, transportation, hotels, rental cars, restaurants, etc.
- Partner with Stratolaunch, airport, and range personnel to support customer and government attendance at launch and recovery activities. Handle amenity requests for all VIPs. Ensure that all arrangements, are handled properly, coordinating with other departments through oral and written instructions.
- Manage projects independently and/or in teams, from conception to completion and often with conflicting priorities.
- Ensure timely and accurate submittals of expense report.
- Handling post-event reports, measuring impact and ROI.
- Using strong organizational skills, perform and prioritize multiple calendars and events while prioritizing conflicting needs.
- Work with and task cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the organization including our Executive Leadership team, to drive missions to completion across teams and time zones.
- Handle matters expeditiously and proactively, following through on requirements to successful completion, often with deadline pressures. Adapt to competing demands.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A self-starter with ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional business relationships and a provide a superior level of internal and external customer support.
- Must have a high level of autonomy when working to achieve goals while also being a collaborator with cross functional teams.
- Will be required to develop budgets for mission events with leadership and demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
- Proficiency Microsoft Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, internal software packages) and Smartsheet, Outlook, Teams, Zoom
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality at all times
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 3-6+ years of logistics/events management experience.
- Experience supporting a team of deployed personnel highly desired.
- Aerospace and/ or Defense industry experience desired.
- Understanding of risk management and effective mitigation strategies.
- The ability to attain up to a TS/SCI clearance desired.
Special remarks regarding work environment, if applicable
- Mojave, CA based 75% of time.
- Extended work schedule with early starts and late work hours, weekends and holidays supporting Stratolaunch personnel all over the world.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Driver license required.
- Ability to obtain a US passport.

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles. Wine aficionados will also find easy access to some of the state’s best vino in Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, and even more locally in Tehachapi and Agua Dulce. Beer fanatics will find some of the best West Coast IPAs at Bravery and Lucky Luke’s in Lancaster. Any food option you crave is covered, and we always recommend the authentic and fresh Mexican food that you won’t find anywhere else in the United States.
