We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Liaison Engineer to join our team. This position will focus on facilitating developing operational procedures, acting as a maintenance / Execution focused liaison to current engineering department and transferring tasks traditionally performed by engineers to the maintenance team, and ensuring seamless integration and efficiency in maintenance operations. This position will report to the director of maintenance and work alongside Maintenance, Engineering, Maintenance control and planning, and company management. Solid interpersonal skills are a must.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordination and Communication

· Serve as the primary interface between the maintenance team, engineering department, and flight operations.

· Facilitate effective communication and coordination to ensure maintenance activities align with engineering specifications and flight test requirements.

· Collaborate with engineering to adapt vehicle design for operations.

2. Technical Support

· Provide engineering support to maintenance personnel for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

· Interpret and clarify engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical instructions for the maintenance team. Provide redline guidance as appropriate.

· Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures specific to aircraft testing and operations to facilitate transfer of task ownership to MX.

· Assist with vehicle testing at the direction of I&T.

3. Compliance and Documentation

· Review engineering definition and provide feedback and planning assistance.

· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, company policies, and engineering requirements.

· Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance actions, discrepancies, and configuration changes.

· Support audits, inspections, and engineering review boards by providing necessary documentation and technical expertise representing the MX and operations section of the organization.

· Assist in Coordination and management of engineering modifications and projects to assist in timely planning and execution.

· Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks to support flight test schedules.

· Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly.

· Assist MX control and MX planning with coordination, scheduling and execution of maintenance plans.

4. Continuous Improvement

· Identify opportunities for process improvements in maintenance and engineering coordination, and operations / Maintenance execution.

· Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for maintenance-related issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or engineering, preferably in a flight test or experimental environment.

· Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, FAA regulations, and engineering standards.

· Experience in authoring technical publications and developing operational procedures.

· Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

· Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.

· Project management experience (preferred).

· FAA airframe and powerplant certificate (preferred)

· Able to acquire DOD SECRET level security clearance if necessary to perform job functions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Relevant certifications in aircraft maintenance or engineering (preferred).

· Experience with Microsoft suite of applications including word, Excel, Visio, and Project.

• Sr Level ($117,000-$153,500): Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 5-10 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• Staff Level ($152,500-$200,000): Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 10-20 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
