Job Description
As the Vice President of Human Resources, you will lead the end-to-end HR function in India, working in close collaboration with our HR team in the US. You will collaborate to shape and execute a strategic HR roadmap that aligns with Stronghold’s global vision while remaining hands-on in building effective HR processes on the ground. This includes designing policies, ensuring compliance, managing payroll, spearheading talent acquisition and retention strategies, championing culture and engagement, and acting as a force multiplier for organizational success.
Your ability to think like an owner, maintain a results-oriented mindset, and innovate to solve challenges will be essential in positioning Stronghold Investment Management as a top employer of choice in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and drive a holistic HR vision and strategy that supports Stronghold’s global vision, and scaling of the Stronghold India Global Capability Center (GCC).
- Partner with US-based HR team to align local HR initiatives with global objectives, ensuring a seamless, one-team approach.
- Serve as a key member of the India and HR leadership team, contributing to the overall business and talent strategies.
- Organizational Design & Talent Management
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design an organizational structure that meets current and future talent demands.
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment and hiring plans, ensuring timely acquisition of top talent.
- Establish best-in-class performance management frameworks (OKRs, KPIs) to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Culture & Engagement
- Champion a high-performance culture rooted in ownership, transparency, innovation, and excellence.
- Implement employee engagement programs that foster open communication, collaboration, and professional development.
- Serve as a role model for Stronghold’s values, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- HR Operations & Compliance
- Lead and mentor the HR team to ensure seamless execution of HR operations, including payroll, benefits, and compliance with local labour laws.
- Develop and refine policies that are both practical and aligned with the organization’s culture and values.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all relevant employment regulations and standards.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Design competitive compensation structures to attract and retain high-caliber talent in a dynamic market.
- Regularly analyse market trends and benchmarks to keep Stronghold’s compensation and benefits offerings compelling.
- Implement rewards and recognition initiatives that reinforce performance excellence and align with our culture.
- Learning & Development
- Drive leadership and professional development programs to build a pipeline of future leaders.
- Facilitate training and development strategies that support continuous learning, career growth, and skill enhancement.
- Retention & Employee Experience
- Develop strategies to reduce attrition and strengthen employee commitment to the organization.
- Implement ongoing feedback loops and action plans to continually refine and enhance the employee experience.
- Partner closely with global and local teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality HR service delivery.
- HR Technology & Analytics
- Oversee the optimization of HRIS systems (such as GreytHR) and ATS platforms (such as Greenhouse) to drive efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
- Utilize analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives, share insights with leadership, and implement continuous improvements.
- Employer Branding

Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience:
- MBA (HR specialization preferred) from a reputable B-school.
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including roles with a strategic mandate.
- Financial Services/Tech Background:
- Demonstrated success in a financial services and tech-driven environment, ideally in mid-sized or startup organizations.
- Leadership & Influence:
- Proven ability to lead and develop HR teams, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-On Approach:
- Comfortable balancing strategic planning with operational execution, including policy creation, payroll oversight, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry Connections:
- Strong network within the HR community and investment/tech sectors for talent acquisition and partnership opportunities.
- HR Technology & Data Analytics:
- Experience implementing or optimizing HRIS (e.g., GreytHR) and ATS (e.g., Greenhouse) solutions, as well as leveraging data analytics to drive informed decisions.
- OKR Implementation Experience:
- Familiarity with setting up and optimizing OKR frameworks to align and measure organizational performance effectively.
- HR Certifications:
- SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or similar recognized certifications.
