We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Support Engineer to join our technology-driven private equity firm. This entry-level role is ideal for someone passionate about technology and eager to build a career in software engineering or DevOps. You will serve as the first line of support, troubleshooting technical issues, assisting end-users, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly skilled team, gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and grow your technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support:

  • 12 hour daily availability (9AM - 9PM CT) to act as an initial point of contact for defect reporting across our various applications
  • Diagnose and document issues promptly through digital or in-person interactions.
  • Follow existing processes to escalate complex problems to senior team members when necessary.

System Maintenance:

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of developer environments
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software version incrementation, database backups, etc.
  • Monitor system performance reporting tools and address anomalies if they arise

Documentation & Training:

  • Conduct quality assurance testing across our various applications
  • Write ad-hoc technical documentation for various technical processes, applications, APIs, and data pipelines
  • Document troubleshooting and resolution procedures in the knowledge base.
  • Create and update user manuals or guides for company software and hardware tools.

Collaboration & Growth:

  • Work closely with the software engineering team and CTO to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Participate in software testing, debugging, and minor coding tasks to support application development.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and best practices.

Ideal Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of programming concepts and languages (e.g., Python, Ruby, Java, SQL, etc.).
  • Knowledge of application monitoring platforms (e.g. Rollbar, Datadog, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite of tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (e.g. Heroku, Azure, AWS)

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience and certifications.
