IT Support Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and service-oriented IT Support Engineer to provide hands-on technical support and systems management within a family office environment. This role requires a proactive, resourceful professional who can ensure seamless day-to-day technology operations across both business and personal systems. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced, high-touch setting, supporting executives, staff, and household members with discretion, professionalism, and “white glove” service.
Key Responsibilities
End-User & Executive Support
- White Glove Support: Provide “white glove” support for executives, staff, and household members across multiple locations (office, home, and offsite)
- Technical Support: Deliver technical support for computers, mobile devices (iOS/Android), printers, and peripherals.
- New Hire Onboarding: Oversee new user onboarding/offboarding, account access, and IT orientation.
Core Technical Skills
- Operating Systems: Proficiency with Windows 10/11 and macOS system updates, troubleshooting, and patch management
- Email Systems: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, and IMAP/SMTP configuration
- Collaboration Tools: Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack
- Cloud Storage: Experience with OneDrive (and ideally other cloud sync tools like Google Drive/Dropbox)
- Conference Rooms: Support and maintain Zoom/ Teams Conference Rooms and other video conferencing systems
- Networking: Ability to test, diagnose, and resolve WiFi and internet connectivity issues; familiarity with routers, access points, and speed testing tools
- Peripheral Devices: Setup and troubleshooting of printers, scanners, webcams, microphones, and speakers
Applications & Platforms
- Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox — including extensions, bookmarks, and sync settings
- Video Conferencing: Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet — installation, updates, and troubleshooting
- Streaming & Media: Amazon Fire TV, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO Max, Plex — account setup, app updates, and playback troubleshooting
Security
- Identity Security: Administer Active Directory, Azure AD, Intune, and related identity/security tools.
- Cybersecurity: Monitor, escalate, and resolve network and cybersecurity issues in a timely manner.
- Support Security Technologies including Multi-Factor Authentication, VPNs, BeyondTrust, Duo, and MS Defender
Smart Home
- Alarm Systems: Familiarity with Alarm.com platform, mobile app, and browser-based access. Safely conduct full alarm trigger tests and document results. Work with the local Police Department to run full security response checks.
- Manage CCTV Systems and related home/office security integrations.
- Cameras: Setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IP cameras and DVR/NVR systems
- Home AV and automation systems: Ability to set up and trouble shoot Control4, smart TVs, streaming services, smart devices
Administration & Documentation
- Documentation: Ability to record arrival/departure times, add notes, and maintain checklists. Maintain accurate asset management, system documentation, and technical logs.
- Develop Procedures and best practices for IT efficiency. Support system upgrades, configurations, and IT infrastructure maintenance.
Soft Skills & Work Habits
- Customer Communication: Explaining findings and fixes in clear, non-technical language. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first mindset.
- Problem Solving: Diagnosing issues across multiple platforms and devices quickly. Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to resolve issues independently.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring all systems are tested thoroughly and consistently. Highly organized, dependable, and flexible—able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Fast Paced: Able to handle working in a fast-paced environment at multiple locations locally.Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 3+ years of IT support experience in professional, executive, or private office environments.
- Proven experience supporting C-Suite or high-profile executives with discretion and professionalism.
- Quickbooks / Quickbooks Cloud and QB Migrations experience a plus
