Part Time Volleyball Coach

Success Academy Charter Schools is introducing a Part Time Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach at its Brooklyn and Manhattan high schools!

Practices generally occur 2-3 times per week on weekdays; times vary between 3:30 and 9:00 pm. Depending on facility access teams may also train occasionally on weekends. The teams compete in the Charter School League with matches typically taking place once per week weekdays or on a Saturday. 

Success Academy Athletics emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and character development. Our coaches are committed educators who teach our student-athletes the importance of collaboration, commitment, and hard work while instilling self-confidence and respect for others. We value competition as an opportunity to challenge ourselves. 

Responsibilities

• Attend all practices and games. 

• Create and execute all practice and game plans. 

• Daily oversight of practice/game travel logistics.

• Supervise and mentor assistant coaches. 

• Manage coaching administrative duties which include but are not limited to; 

• attendance, roster management, game-day operations, score reporting, distribution and collection of uniforms, team-specific events 

• Display leadership, professional behavior, and communication in dealings with student-athletes, parents, staff, and administrators. 

• Provide feedback to student-athletes on a regular basis regarding skill development and opportunities for growth. 

• Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to Success Academy’s mission, rules and regulations. 

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of relevant coaching experience. Previous high school playing and college playing experience is preferred. 

• Strong understanding of volleyball skills and strategies. 

• Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

• Growth mindset and passion for learning.

• Ability to form strong professional relationships with students-athletes, families, and colleagues. 

• Positive, enthusiastic, collaborative approach. 

• Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail. 

The stipend for the season is $6,000.00.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.

Compensation Range

$65,000 - $65,000 USD
