About the Job:
The Attorney, Litigation and Privacy is responsible for handling routine litigation and discovery matters, including responding to subpoenas and providing support for various litigation issues, such as consumer protection, personal injury, ADA, employment, and real estate litigation. This role involves collaborating with different business units to provide litigation and legal support. The position reports to the Legal Director, leads a team of one, and collaborates with several paralegals.
The Day-to-Day:
- Manage outside counsel and insurance counsel with strategic defense of litigation matters nationwide, including commercial, consumer protection, ADA, employment, personal injury, and real estate
- Manage information requests, discovery and pre-litigation filings.
- Manage responses and objections to subpoenas and other legal documents.
- Manage privacy law compliance in collaboration with cross-functional team
- Implement compliance frameworks stemming from litigation as needed
- Develop and implement restaurant safety related policies and procedures, training, and compliance programs.
- Keep apprised of, and ensure compliance with, newly enacted state and federal laws.
Is This You?
- Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent required.
- Licensed member in good standing of California or New York State Bar required.
- Minimum of 5 years of general litigation experience required.
- Previous in-house experience preferred.
- Strong grasp of civil procedure required.
- Must be a team player and relationship builder, with the ability to adapt in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment and think creatively.
- Some travel may be required.

Salary Range: $165,000 to $180,000 annually + bonus eligibility + benefits
