Caregiver Hiring Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Caregiver Hiring Manager is a key figure in Tandem Care's caregiver recruitment efforts, responsible for sourcing and interviewing prospective caregivers “CGs” and helping us build strong, high-quality care teams. This individual will guide candidates through our unique care model, which differs from traditional caregiving approaches (see explainer video at www.tandem.care), and clearly communicate what a day in the life of a Tandem caregiver looks like. The ideal candidate should possess empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to evaluate caregivers' suitability for both the role and our team. They should also have experience understanding the unique challenges of sourcing and hiring caregivers.  This role comes with a competitive base salary, bonus, equity, paid time off, medical, 401k and other key benefits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Recruitment Planning:

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of recruitment strategies to ensure a robust pipeline of caregiver candidates (creative out of the box thinking will be key success factor).
  • Continuously seek and implement new methods for attracting talent, expanding the reach to diverse, target-rich candidate pools.
  • Utilize data analysis to refine recruitment strategies and maintain competitive positioning in the market (including suggestions on pay rates and other key drivers that will lead to more hires).
  • Analyze recruitment metrics and provide insights to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Regular reporting on recruiting spend to ensure optimal use of resources and spend per hire.

Team Oversight:

  • Mentor and manage a team of talent acquisition coordinators.
  • Provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Set goals and performance metrics for your team and monitor progress.

Recruitment:

  • Oversee the entire CG recruitment cycle: including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and final selection.
  • Conduct interviews with prospective caregivers, evaluating their experience, skills, and fit for Tandem’s unique care model.
  • Clearly explain how Tandem’s approach differs from traditional caregiving models, detailing what this means for CGs in their day-to-day roles.
  • Candidate Evaluation: Carefully assess each candidate’s ability to:
    • Deliver high-quality care to clients with varying levels of assistance.
    • Fit into the existing team as a proactive, communicative team player.
    • Determine if the Tandem model is the right fit for them and if they have the ability to thrive in our dynamic work environment.
  • Ensure there is active communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Allocate funds for job postings and promotional campaigns to attract candidates.
  • Forge and maintain relationships with educational institutions and other talent sources, coordinating job fairs and other types of CG recruitment events.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with home care and senior care industry, specifically around caregiving and non-medical personal care.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement comprehensive CG-specific recruitment strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Critical Analysis: Skilled in analyzing recruitment trends and data to inform decision-making and improve CG recruitment effectiveness.
  • Communication Mastery: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Safe Pair of Hands: Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, proactive & timely follow-up on open action items, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Persistence & Adaptability: Capacity to engage challenging candidate searches and adjust strategies in response to dynamic market conditions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Proficiency in building positive work relationships across the company. And ability to be empathetic and approachable with potential hires.
  • Interviewing Proficiency: Ability to conduct effective interviews (they are a right fit for Tandem and Tandem’s model is a right fit for them) and to make informed candidate assessments.
  • Innovative Mindset: Creativity in developing “out of the box” recruitment approaches to tap into diverse and target rich talent pools.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Commitment to serving both candidates and hiring managers, striving to meet and exceed their expectations.

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or applicable related field.
  • At least 4+ years of experience in recruiting, with 2+ years of manager-level experience.
  • Must have experience directly in home care recruitment; working either at a traditional home care agency, assisted living facility, independent living facility or other operation where your role oversaw the hiring of caregivers with HCA licenses.
  • Proven track record in sourcing and hiring CGs in competitive labor markets.
  • Experience with a major Applicant Tracking System such as Greenhouse, Lever, Bamboo, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Stationery at computer for prolonged periods.
  • Regularly engage in outbound phone calls, texts and emails throughout the day.
