SDET Lead (Contract)

As an SDET Lead (Contract) on teamLFG, you will drive the client automation strategy of an Unannounced Project from pre-production to production, from early technical planning and user flows, playtesting and tweaking the UI of the shipping game. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated, cross-discipline team devoted to turning a creative dream into a new franchise at PlayStation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the client automation strategy and execution for the project

o Create the technical strategy for automation frameworks, test architecture

o Make architectural choices for test systems spanning C#, C++, Unreal Engine Blueprint infrastructure

o Define scalable, maintainable automation and infrastructure patterns that support long-term platform growth

o Identify technical risks early and drive mitigation strategies to protect release confidence

o Collaborate with online services SDETs to build automation integrated with services

• Product owner for the automation scrum team

o Build stakeholder alignment and manage team execution of core technology deliverables in alignment with project priorities and in partnership with technical leads in your areas

o Gather area, product, or program requirements from customers, ensuring they are tracked in the appropriate backlogs and (when viable) represented in the project roadmap

o Successfully deliver on area product, program, or goals, defining (and aligning with customers on) quality, risks, and expectations throughout

o Regularly communicate product, program, and area status and risks, providing visibility to stakeholders and leadership

o Manage area risks and establish risk mitigations

o Ensure team health, culture, efficacy and efficiency

o Engage with external partners to explore, maintain, and integrate technology solutions

• Hands on engineering work, including Unreal Blueprint automation and automation infrastructure (C#/C++)

o Develop, maintain, and improve automated test cases, testing tools and frameworks

o Build and improve test infrastructure o Monitor test infrastructure, analyze automation failures, improve reliability, and optimize runtime performance

o Research, evaluate, and integrate new tools and methodologies to improve testing scalability and efficiency

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Proficiency with object-oriented languages such as C#, C++, or similar

• Experience developing automated tests, frameworks, and test tools

• Experience with modern game engines, particularly related to automation and test tooling

• Strong communication skills (verbal / written); able to collaborate effectively across disciplines and organizational levels

• Embrace a "we" culture in addition to being an outstanding collaborator and communicator

 

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Experience with performance profiling pipelines

• Experience developing technical roadmaps, staffing plans, etc.

• Experience with Unreal

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.

$80 - $121 USD
