Payroll Analyst

Tecovas is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join our Accounting Team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and processing payroll for our Corporate, Retail, and Customer Service Teams. Reporting directly to the Payroll Accounting Manager, you will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, provide accurate payroll records, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
This role is required to be based in Austin, TX. Candidates must either be currently located in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for processing bi-weekly and off-cycle payrolls for both hourly and salaried employees
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, bonuses, overtime, and any deductions
- Address, troubleshoot, and resolve any discrepancies or errors in payroll records
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations by staying current on labor laws, tax laws, and payroll-related legislation
- Serve as point of contact for employees regarding any payroll-related questions or concerns
- Prepare payroll-related reporting and documentation for audits and tax purposes
- Assist Payroll Manager with annual 401k audit and other projects as needed
- Provide support cross-functionally by responding promptly and professionally to all inquiries
Experience we’re looking for:
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in payroll, accounting, or related field
- 1+ years experience using Paycom or other payroll software platforms
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPP or FCP certification preferred
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
