Lead RN (Full-time Evenings)

Position Overview:
Provides holistic and compassionate nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team to clients with Eating Disorders and other comorbid disorders in an inpatient or residential higher level of care (HLOC) setting.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 32 hours a week
- 2nd shift, 2-10:30p
- Rotating weekends and holidays
How Nurses Empower Recovery:
- Performs all tasks and responsibilities associated with floor/staff nurse
- Assesses patient care requirements on each unit and functioning of equipment and needs of nursing team by making rounds
- Develops and implements staffing plan for each shift based on patient acuity, patient census, and available staff
- Consistently follows established safety and infection control procedures and identifies and intervenes in unsafe situations
- Assists Nurse Manager in the maintenance and tracking of supplies and equipment
- Ensures operation of medical equipment by verifying emergency equipment availability and maintaining equipment inventories
- Participates in on-call rotation as determined by site leadership; minimally expected to take call in the absence of a Nurse Manager
- Attends and assist with planning nursing staff meetings
- Identifies and communicates staff’s continuing education needs to the Nurse Manager
- Helps promote team building and staff morale
- Serves as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems
- Assists with training and onboarding for new nursing staff
- Participates in projects related to department initiatives
- Attends Clinical Team or other meetings as needed in the absence of the Nurse Manager
- Checks in routinely with nursing staff who are within their first 90 days for questions and support with competencies
- Supports staffing during critical gaps and shortages
- Assists with department audits
- Collaborates with other Lead Nurses and Nurse Manager
- Steps in as interim Nurse Manager as needed
- Acts as a liaison between nursing staff and providers
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide holistic, compassionate, safe, high-quality care
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a RN in Ohio
- Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive
- Current Basic Life Support certification required (American Heart Association) within 30 days from date of hire
- Experience or strong desire to work in a mental health setting
