Director, Digital Operations

The Orchard is seeking an organized and motivated Director, Digital Operations to oversee our Digital Supply Chain Operations team. The Digital Supply Chain Operations team is responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end digital supply chain processes on a global scale. This includes monitoring the flow of digital products, coordinating across regions to ensure efficient operations, and swiftly resolving issues as they arise to ensure uninterrupted distribution services for our clients. The team is at the leading edge of emerging business use cases, driving the advancement of supply chain practices to support them.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a team of supply chain operations specialists responsible for monitoring the health of The Orchard’s digital content feeds
  • Provide training and development for supply chain operations specialists to equip both the team and the company with the skills and tools needed to thrive in a dynamic, digital-first environment
  • Supervise vendor relationships to ensure third-party vendors and systems meet internal performance standards and align with business objectives
  • Develop and implement strategies for optimizing digital supply chain processes, driving efficiency, accuracy, and scalability by leveraging automation and reducing manual intervention wherever possible
  • Analyze digital supply chain performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital supply chain operations, ensuring continuous improvement in delivery time and issue resolution
  • Create and manage standardized workflows for routine checks, troubleshooting, and issue escalation in digital content feeds, ensuring consistency in processes, reporting, and communication
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates on project progress and supply chain performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering and Label Management, to resolve issues and optimize end-to-end digital supply chain processes
  • Address and resolve issues or challenges that arise within the digital supply chain, ensuring minimal disruption to our distribution services
  • Oversee the onboarding process for newly-partnered DSPs, ensuring smooth integration into our supply chain, aligning with internal requirements, and ensuring platform compatibility to optimize content delivery and performance
  • Continuously enhance technical account management practices by identifying areas for improvement, implementing best practices, and maintaining proactive communication with partners 

Who you are:

  • A proven leader in managing cross-functional teams in the digital music space, and are experienced in leading large-scale supply chain projects
  • Results-oriented, committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • An articulate communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders
  • Knowledgeable about various commercial models and usage types in digital music, with a keen understanding of the unique supply chain challenges they present
  • An interested, proactive problem solver and naturally organized multitasker, with a keen instinct for prioritizing tasks effectively
  • An independent self-starter who takes initiative and knows when to seek guidance or ask questions to ensure success

You have:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
  • Experience with SFTP and S3 clients, Command Prompt programs (including iTunes Transporter), Looker, and SQL
  • Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) to support digital asset management
  • Experience collaborating with international partners and teams, fostering strong relationships across cultures
  • A solid understanding of audio and video encoding formats
  • Knowledge of XML, with familiarity in DDEX ERN preferred, to support industry standards in data exchange
  • Prior experience in music video production, video rights management, or within the broader music industry is highly preferred
