Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is a versatile and skilled team member focused on the proactive and reactive maintenance of machinery to ensure continuous operation in our mail-order pharmacy. The primary goal is to prevent equipment failures through scheduled maintenance and to swiftly resolve mechanical issues when they arise, minimizing impact on production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on conveyor systems, packaging equipment, and other automated machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and part replacements.
  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, diagnose mechanical problems, and perform necessary repairs to restore equipment to operational status.
  • Assemble and install new components, replacement parts, and machine sub-assemblies as part of repair and upgrade projects.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers) to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment.
  • Work closely with Machine Builders and Technicians on larger projects, providing assembly support and mechanical expertise.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals to guide assembly, disassembly, and repair work.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring it is assembled correctly and meets operational specifications.
  • Identify and source necessary parts and materials required for repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities in the work order system (CMMS), noting parts used and time spent.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering strictly to all company safety policies.

Qualifications

  • A technical certificate or 2+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or a similar role is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or packaging environment is preferred.
  • Basic English with the ability to read and write.

Skills & Abilities

  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems (gears, bearings, drives, pneumatics) and how machines work.
  • Ability to diagnose the cause of mechanical failures and perform effective repairs.
  • Competent in using a wide range of tools to assemble and disassemble machinery with precision.
  • Proactive mindset focused on preventing equipment failures before they occur.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Versatility to switch between planned maintenance tasks and urgent breakdowns.
  • Commitment to following all safety guidelines and procedures.

This is a 100% onsite role; remote or hybrid work is not available

Pay Range

$22 - $28 USD
