Your Opportunity
Scion is paving a path in student living, and we are seeking an HRIS & Payroll Specialist to join us in executing our vision. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining the integrity of our HR systems as well as providing HR analytic solutions. You will create insightful reports, interactive dashboards, and advanced analytics to drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. Additionally, you will play an active role in the implementation and ongoing management of our HRIS system, ensuring it is optimally configured to meet organizational needs. Your responsibilities will include providing training and support to end-users and leveraging various data sources and tools to deliver valuable insights to the HR team and broader organization.
Your Responsibilities
Reporting and Analytics:
- Design, build, and maintain a comprehensive suite of standard and custom HR reports, dashboards, and analytics using UKG's reporting tools and data infrastructure.
- Partner with the HR team and business leaders to understand analytical needs, then translate those needs into actionable, data-driven reporting solutions.
- Leverage UKG data to conduct deep analysis of HR metrics, identify trends, and deliver meaningful insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, UKG dashboards) to present complex data in a clear and accessible format for stakeholders.
- Automate recurring reporting processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and ensure timely, accurate delivery of HR data across the organization.
- Own and prioritize ad hoc reporting requests, applying critical thinking and data interpretation skills to support business objectives and HR initiatives.
HR Data Management:
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of HR data within the UKG system through regular audits and data cleansing initiatives.
- Establish and maintain data governance policies and procedures to standardize data entry and usage practices.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on HR data and systems, providing guidance and support to the broader HR team.
- Assist with payroll preparation and vendor invoice reconciliations as well as HR and Benefit events (i.e. Open enrollment, etc.)
HRIS Implementation and Management:
- Assist with the additional implementation and configuration of the UKG HRIS system, collaborating cross functionally to gather business requirements and optimize system setup.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate HR and operational staff on effective UKG system utilization.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for UKG system users.
- Continuously evaluate the UKG system's performance and identify opportunities for process improvements or system enhancements.
Payroll:
- Ensure organized records of employee payroll and benefits information.
- Oversee payroll process and provide oversight to the Payroll Coordinator
- Identify areas for improvement in streamline payroll processes.
- Prepare and distribute written and verbal information regarding payroll updates, employee benefits, compensation, and personnel policies.
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll or benefits.
- Remain current on state and federal payroll and tax laws within the United States and Canada.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field
- 2+ years of HR Operations experience
- 2+ years of UKG HRIS experience
- Demonstrated expertise in report writing, data analysis, and system configuration
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with HR, Finance and IT teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced skills in Excel and data visualization
Operational Details
- Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters.
- Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours, with flexibility during peak times.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000-$80,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
