Systems Engineer
The Swift Group is actively seeking experienced Systems Engineers with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows systems engineering, configuration management, and scripting, with the ability to work in a dynamic and highly secure IT environment. Candidates should possess excellent troubleshooting skills and a strong understanding of the engineering lifecycle.
This position is located in the Herndon, VA area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support and expertise in Tanium for endpoint security and management.
- Manage and troubleshoot Windows 10 environments, including the creation, modification, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Utilize Microsoft System Configuration Manager (SCCM and MECM), MDT, and OSD deployment methods for efficient system deployment and management.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and other scripting languages.
- Work with Microsoft Active Directory to support enterprise authentication and access control.
- Provide virtualization support using VMware and Hyper-V technologies.
- Follow the full engineering lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solutions design, testing, documentation, and implementation.
- Support multi-tiered, highly secure IT environments with a strong understanding of client (thick and thin) and server operating systems, networking hardware, protocols, and system integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently across various platforms.
- Work independently and proactively to learn new technologies and provide innovative solutions.
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing technical support and customer service.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the mission objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in systems engineering and IT operations.
- Strong experience with Tanium for security and endpoint management.
- Hands-on experience with Windows Group Policy Objects (GPOs), SCCM, MECM, MDT, and OSD deployment.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and its various components.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills in IT environments.
- Strong initiative and self-learning capabilities in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise collaboration tools such as Skype and Exchange.
- Familiarity with DevOps and Agile methodologies for software and systems development.
- Experience working with cloud technologies, including public and private cloud environments.

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
