About the Role
The Engineering Effectiveness team at ThousandEyes plays a crucial role in ensuring business continuity and enhancing the productivity of developers. Our mission is to establish and maintain secure, repeatable, and efficient systems for managing infrastructure for rapid development iterations with the highest standards of quality. The team provides a seamless experience for all members of the ThousandEyes Engineering organization from day one. This is the team that is accountable for the end-to-end path to Production. We achieve our goals through the design, implementation, and automation of systems and solutions that control and manage the seamless operationalization of software applications, the cloud computing they run on, and data within the organization. We are instrumental in shaping the security posture and foundational to the compliance and risk management efforts of the company.
What You'll Do
You will be leading a formed team with talented engineers, presenting a fantastic chance for individuals to make an impact while influencing the future of the organization. The role emphasizes the importance of delivering architectural proposals that are highly scalable, hands-on involvement, and collaboration with peers and the broader ThousandEyes and Cisco Engineering teams to ensure productivity metrics and alignment with the latest technological trends. You will own the technical roadmap of a central development and deployment portal, critical to the Developer Experience. We are dedicated to optimizing our systems and enhancing the lives of our ThousandEyes organization members through measurable and tangible improvements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience. Master's degree and relevant certifications to this position could be considered as bridging the gap.
- Expertise in working with CICD pipelines and driving up Developer Experience.
- Expertise with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
- Expertise with infrastructure management tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet, Ansible)
- Proficient in scripting and programming languages (e.g. Python, Go).
- Solid track record in leading project deliverables with high complexity at scale.
- Familiarity with GitOps and Developer centric methodologies.
- Experience with role-based access control (RBAC) and attribute-based access control (ABAC).
- Knowledge of security frameworks, compliance standards, and regulations (e.g., SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
- Excellent software design and development skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
