What You'll Do:

Traeger is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Manufacturing team in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a Quality Engineer, you will ensure Traeger products consistently meet—and surpass—customer and market expectations. The ideal candidate for this role is driven, detail-oriented, and eager to dive deep into quality assurance processes. They will proactively identify potential risks, work independently and collaboratively, and contribute to resolving quality challenges. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to analyze and improve product quality at every stage—from initial design through to commercialization. How You'll Help Us Win:

New Product Development

  • Provide Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) support to product development programs, including risk assessments, development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (xFMEA), Control Plans (CP), and measurement system analysis (GR&R, Cpk, FAI).
  • Create and execute test plans for Incoming Quality Control (IQC) and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT) to validate component and product reliability.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to identify quality issues during development and track them through corrective and preventive actions (CA/PA) to resolution before mass production.
  • Lead the definition of Critical-to-Customer (CTC) and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) product characteristics and establish appropriate measurement tools for process capability and manufacturing inspection.
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/A) analysis to identify opportunities for product redesign that reduce defects (poka-yoke) and enhance manufacturability and serviceability.

Sustaining Manufacturing

  • Provide meaningful quality data analytics and reporting for defects occurring both in the field and at OEM manufacturing sites.
  • Monitor warranty and field data to identify failure trends and support the development of improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with Sustaining Engineering, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams to determine root causes of quality issues and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Develop and improve quality process controls and documentation.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt (preferred)

Experience:

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in a Quality Engineering role supporting new product development
  • 2–5 years of relevant product development experience in consumer goods
  • 2–5 years of relevant manufacturing experience in sheet metal forming, injection-molded plastics, coatings, and mechanical assembly
  • Experience with third-party manufacturing in Asia

Expertise:

  • Knowledge of quality practices and standards, including 8D, APQP, Green Belt, Design for Six Sigma, and ISO 9001:2015
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Technical writing and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to provide data-driven solutions
  • Strong data analytics skills
  • Experience using DOMO or similar applications for data analytics
