Sales Development Manager

Triumvirate Environmental, a leader in environmental services across North America, is looking for a dynamic Sales Development Manager to elevate our Sales Team! In this role, you’ll lead a dynamic team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Business Development Associates (BDAs) to drive sales performance and refine our consultative sales strategy. Through a mix of data-driven insights and motivational leadership, you’ll cultivate talent, inspire excellence, and create new opportunities for growth.

This position reports to the Director of Sales and is based at our corporate office in Somerville, MA.

Responsibilities: 

  • Coach and mentor a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Business Development Associates (BDAs) (0-2 years' experience) in Triumvirate’s sales process, emphasizing the Sandler Sales Methodology and consultative selling techniques to improve cold outreach, prospecting, and opportunity qualification.
  • Guide team members in originating new door meetings, qualifying opportunities, and uncovering problems we can help solve by quantifying them. Support and help the sales team prospect for new opportunities.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the sales opportunity pipeline for the SDRs, ensuring all opportunities are qualified and they are working with assigned Sales Reps.
  • Utilize sales tools to track and analyze activity, ensuring that team members meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.
  • Provide routine coaching and performance management to keep team members on track through one-on-ones and group collaborations.
  • Lead recruitment with the Director of Sales, interview, and onboard new SDR and BDA team members, ensuring alignment with Triumvirate’s world-class sales culture.
  • Deliver consistent training and coaching on:
  • Sales process, from initial prospecting to negotiation and closing.
  • CRM usage and proposal creation using Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) tools.
  • Triumvirate’s services, value propositions, and the consultative sales approach.
  • Time management, organizational skills, and essential soft skills.
  • Conduct live call coaching sessions to evaluate and refine sales techniques, including cold calls and prospecting strategies.
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and approving proposals and pricing structures.
  • Help the SDR and BDA teams with annual revenue forecasting and follow-up with team members to meet or exceed goals.
  • Support the team by ensuring we have purchase orders, onboarding new customers with help from Operations, contracts, finance, and Technical Services, and following up with customers on outstanding invoices.
  • Collaborate with marketing to identify and target new business prospects and cross-selling opportunities within the current Book or Business.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), holding team members accountable to performance standards.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to team members through daily check-ins, weekly meetings, and semiannual evaluations.
  • Assist in setting individual and team goals and review quarterly commission results.
  • Partner with the Sales Management team to present monthly performance metrics and sales updates to the executive team.
  • Ensure that safety remains the top priority for the sales team during all prospect and client interactions and fieldwork.
  • Drive a culture of WOW! with team members, prospects, clients, and across the Triumvirate organization.
  • Travel as needed, including air travel, to support team and business growth within each regional office.

Basic Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of sales experience, including 3+ years of managing salespeople.
  • Deep understanding of sales processes, with a track record of coaching SDRs/BDAs with 0-2 years’ experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, business, or a related field.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage sales pipelines and team performance.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
  • Reliable transportation

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Expertise in Sandler Sales or other consultative methodologies.
  • Proven ability to motivate and develop young, high-potential sales talent.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with performance management and team leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and protecting the planet.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (including air travel) to support team development and business growth across regional offices.
