Front End Software Engineer Intern
- Support the development of web-based frontend space ground system software, including 2D and 3D interfaces, using React and TypeScript
- Contribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including space operators, designers, backend engineers, and astrodynamics algorithm engineers
- Take on well-scoped tasks and features with guidance from experienced engineers
- Write tests and follow established testing practices to maintain code quality
- Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and modern JavaScript or TypeScript
- Familiarity with React or similar modern frontend frameworks
- Basic understanding of how frontend applications communicate with backend services (e.g., REST APIs, WebSockets)
- Interest in building complex, data-rich user interfaces
- Comfort with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Strong written and oral communication skills and aptitude for working across disciplines
- Enjoys debugging and problem solving
- A strong bias towards understanding how things work rather than accepting the status quo
- Experience with React patterns including hooks, functional components, and component composition
- Exposure to testing frameworks such as Jest, Vitest, or React Testing Library
- Familiarity with component libraries, design systems, or tools like Storybook and Figma
- Exposure to Three.js, React Three Fiber, or other web-based 3D libraries
- Familiarity with CSS-in-JS, Tailwind, or other modern styling approaches
- Exposure to databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Interest in data visualization, real-time interfaces, or interactive 3D applications

- Base Salary: $28/hour
