Job Summary
The Manufacturing Test Technician 2 will test technical products using established company processes. Success in this position will be achieved through attention to detail, safety, organization and the ability to exceed quality and on-time delivery goals.
Manufacturing Test Technician 2 is the mid-range of the career series with 2-5 years of experience testing electronic and electro-mechanical products. Manufacturing Test Technician 2's have demonstrated they have gained the knowledge, skill and experience to work under limited supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Accurately and efficiently testing a variety of moderate to semi-complex products by following work instructions and utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures and inspection equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Test familiarity in most product spaces.
- Utilize hand and power tools, assembly and test fixtures, and test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, multimeters, electronic loads, signal generators, etc).
- Performing automated, semi-automated, and manual test methods while accurately interpreting results
- Maintaining a safe, organized, clean and foreign object damage (FOD) free work area.
- Ensuring all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.
- Actively contributing to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Recording time worked and other data into an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Interfacing with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing Leads and Senior Manufacturing Test Technicians to relay product problems and progress of work.
- Maintain test fixtures and equipment.
- Performing assembly tasks for test procedures as required.
- Manage work stations and practice good housekeeping techniques.
- Serving as a resource to other team members and assist in training efforts.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or strong testing skills which are directly transferable to manufacturing.
- Coursework in electronics, manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven record of success in hands-on assembly or test in a manufacturing environment.
- Troubleshooting skills at PCB level.
- Clean room environment experience preferred.
- Excellent technical aptitude, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and deal effectively with people at all levels.
- Intermediate use of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic IT skills (network and communication troubleshooting) preferred.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new procedures, techniques and processes.
- The ability to read and understand manufacturing work instructions.
- Proven record of success in hands-on assembly or test in a manufacturing environment.
- This position may be asked to drive for company purposes during the course of employment. If asked and agreed upon, employees must possess a valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- May participate in the identity verification process to access secure client or government portals by authorizing certified supplier or customer management platforms to obtain information from your personal credit profile or other information, solely to verify your identity.
Physical Requirements
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone or virtually.
- Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, or assemble/manufacture intricate items.
- Seeing to read a variety of materials.
- Sitting or standing for extended period of time.
- Physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height. Any items that weigh more than 50 pounds will require two or more people or a lifting device to move.
- Physical agility to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
Pay/Salary Information
Pay scale for this position - $34.89 - $37.00 Hourly
