Platform & Security Engineering Lead

We are looking for an specialist in cloud security architecture and engineering to join our digital banking team in Singapore. This senior role will be responsible for ensuring the security of our AWS cloud infrastructure and platforms, leading the build of key security platforms and automation, and working closely with platform engineers to validate technical designs and implementations. You will be a key technical leader driving security strategy and innovation across our cloud-native banking platform.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Platform Security

  • Lead cloud security strategy and implementation for our AWS-based digital banking platform

  • Collaborate with platform engineers to review, validate, and secure technical designs and implementations

  • Conduct security assessments of cloud infrastructure, services, and architectural patterns

  • Drive implementation of security controls and monitoring across cloud environments

  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and security frameworks in cloud deployments

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Application Security, Security Architecture, and Security Engineering teams

  • Contribute to security solutions across multiple disciplines in an agile, collaborative environment

  • Engage with senior stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to communicate security strategies and risks

  • Facilitate security discussions between engineering teams and business stakeholders

Engineering Leadership & Innovation

  • Lead strategy and direction for innovative security solutions to improve security posture

  • Implement and optimize security controls, monitoring, and incident response capabilities

  • Drive security automation and infrastructure-as-code practices

  • Lead and mentor teams of security engineers and contribute to their professional development

  • Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, technologies, and best practices

Strategic Security Management

  • Develop and maintain cloud security policies, standards, and procedures

  • Provide technical security guidance for cloud adoption and digital transformation initiatives

  • Lead security incident response and forensics for cloud-based threats

  • Present security metrics, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership

Required Qualifications

Experience & Background

  • 8+ years of cybersecurity experience with 5+ years focused on cloud security or security engineering

  • Deep expertise in AWS cloud security services, architecture, and best practices

  • Proven experience in financial services or highly regulated industries (banking preferred)

  • Strong engineering background with hands-on technical implementation experience

  • 3+ years of experience leading and managing technical teams

Technical Expertise

  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS security services (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of cloud-native security architectures and zero-trust principles

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

  • Proficiency in security automation and DevSecOps practices

  • Knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)

  • Understanding of network security in cloud environments (VPC, security groups, NACLs)

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Experience with banking and financial services regulations

  • Knowledge of cloud compliance frameworks and audit processes

  • Understanding of data protection and privacy requirements in banking

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to senior executives

  • Experience managing and developing high-performing engineering teams

  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
