About the Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced GM/Head of Application Engineering  to help grow and scale our Application Engineering business, especially in the field of Generative AI. This individual will report directly to our founder and CEO and lead our efforts to deliver cutting-edge projects and services, develop verticalization strategies, and provide Gen AI solutioning for Fortune 500 companies. The role is pivotal in building and growing the App Engineering practice from the ground up, contributing to the company's transformation from a staffing model to a services-led approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scale App Engineering: Grow the Application Engineering practice with a strong focus on Enterprise Services and Generative AI solutions.
  • Market Fit & Product Innovation: Identify key areas of focus by talking to customers and understanding their needs. Iterate with customers and develop innovative solutions to address their problems using Gen AI and other emerging technologies.
  • Technical Consultation & Leadership: Serve as a trusted advisor to CTOs and CEOs, helping them understand how Gen AI can solve their most complex business challenges.
  • Lead Strategic Projects: Drive the delivery of high-impact Gen AI projects across various verticals, from conception to execution, ensuring a focus on solutioning and market fit.
  • Business Development & Sales: Actively engage with Fortune 500 companies to sell Gen AI solutions and services, while also exploring 
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with technical teams and sales to drive business growth, while managing and holding the sales team accountable for results.

Who You Are:

  • Strategic & Technical Leader: You have a strong background in both technical and business strategy. You are able to engage in high-level discussions with C-suite executives while understanding the intricacies of engineering and solutioning.
  • Proven Track Record in ML/DS: You have successfully sold and delivered complex ML/DS projects, particularly with a focus on AI/ML.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: You have a founder’s mentality, thrive in ambiguity, and are skilled at iterating solutions without a predefined playbook. You are capable of driving product-market fit through hustle and creativity.
  • Industry Expertise: Experience in verticals like Enterprise AI is a plus, particularly in leveraging Gen AI to solve complex business problems.
  • Consultative Sales Experience: You have a strong ability to connect technical solutions to business needs, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to enterprise clients.
  • Execution & Leadership: You have experience growing and leading teams in a fast-paced, early-stage environment, ideally scaling services from the ground up to $10M+ ARR.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Proven track record of owning P&L responsibilities.
  • Proven experience leading Application Engineering teams, ideally in the Gen AI or AI/ML space.
  • Strong technical consulting experience with the ability to hold technical conversations with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial experience as a founder or in a role that required building and scaling products or services without a playbook.
  • Demonstrated success in selling AI/ML solutions to large enterprises, with a track record of building relationships at the executive level.

Ability to manage a sales team and drive accountability, although technical and strategic acumen is the primary focus.
