Sales and Marketing Operations Specialist

APAC - Remote

We are seeking a Sales and Marketing Operations Specialist with a passion for building relationships and driving business growth. The ideal candidate will excel at understanding customer workflows, identifying pain points, and offering Twist Bioscience's technologies, services, products, and customized solutions. This individual will be responsible for lead generation, customer/ dealer engagement, and driving sales opportunities by working closely with the product specialist and the sales team to convert leads into customers. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for assisting with marketing collateral development, data entry and database management, marketing sales support as well as other marketing-related tasks for the region. Key Responsibilities:

  • Using specific TWIST standard operating procedures and tools from our inside sales team, generate, qualify, and nurture leads to ensure a steady pipeline of opportunities in the synthetic biology and next generation sequencing space.
  • Help generate & qualify leads in tier 3 & 4 customer segments to assist in the generation of opportunities that can be closed individually, or nurtured for transfer to the sales team to close.
  • Work closely with the Product Specialist to nurture & convert leads into customers by demonstrating the value of Twist Bioscience’s products and offerings.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders; customers and dealers.
  • Provide technical assistance and insight/ educate customers to appreciate the TWIST technology and understand how to use tools, e.g. eCommerce, to enable transaction. 
  • Provide a contact point for dealers/ customers to gain access to technical information to help progess leads and opportunities, ensuring a seamless experience from initial outreach to final conversion.
  • Guide interested synthetic biology customers through the portfolio offering, and help them use the TWIST eCommerce system to optimise their sequences through to online order placement.

 

  • Work with APAC marketing and ISS to identify and engage potential customers in the genomics & synthetic biology space.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns that enhance brand visibility and market penetration.
  • Leverage multiple channels and technologies (e.g., digital marketing, networking, social media, and events) to generate leads and build a strong sales pipeline.

 

  • Create and maintain metrics reports on marketing and sales activities, effectiveness, and business impact.
  • Analyze success of marketing initiatives and tactics, as well as analyze marketing and sales data to develop insights and make recommendations on areas for optimization.
  • Monitor and maintain data quality within the marketing database.
  • Represent Twist Bioscience at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer sites to promote the company’s capabilities and engage with potential customers.
  • Provide insights on customer needs insight to assist in developing marketing materials, brochures, presentations, and digital content that effectively communicate Twist Bioscience’s strengths.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to align Twist Bioscience’s offerings with customer requirements and expectations.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and market feedback to continuously refine sales approaches.
  • Flexibility in working hours is required to support customers across various time zones.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in  biological sciences, or related fields or equivalent working experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extremely organized, excellent communicator, and a desire to improve processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, Life Sciences, Business or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum  3-5 years in a sales and marketing role, with at least two (2) years in a technical role within the biopharma, CDMO, or cell and gene therapy industry.
  • Proven track record in lead generation, customer engagement, and sales conversion.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and analyze varying customer workflows and pain points to position Twist Bioscience’s technologies, services, and products effectively.
  • Experience in leveraging multiple channels and technologies (digital marketing, CRM tools, networking, social media, etc.) to generate leads.
  • Experience in lead generation, CRM tools, and sales funnel management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with the Product Specialist and Marketing team to drive business growth.
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate global customers across different time zones.
