Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)  or Software Automation Engineer to work on an emerging cyberspace capability. This candidate will be responsible for overall development and maintaining automated functional/user-acceptance tests. They will work closely with the development and field operations teams.

The work will be hybrid and we are looking for candidates who are willing to work up to 4 days in our Arlington, VA office.  

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, write, and maintain automated UX/UI tests in Java and TestNG for user-focused cases
  • Design, write, and maintain performance and api tests in Java
  • Transpose manual XRAY tests into Automation Test features/cases
  • Monitor and maintain the test automation project, including checking test results, troubleshooting and resolving defects, and reporting product defects in JIRA.
  • Monitor and maintain ELK (Elastic Stack) and Kibana dashboards, visualizations, and indices
  • Monitor, configure and debug test-automation Jenkins pipelines
  • Monitor and maintain Selenium Grid system for browser management
  • Work with performance, manual testing, and DevOps teams to maintain AWS testing environment
  • Review core development features for test automation failures before release (Test/Product Defects)
  • Collaborate with entire SDET and greater Testing teams during Sprint and Quarterly Agile planning
  • Conduct peer code reviews for other team members
  •  
  • Provide consultation and/or address and remediate any immediate concerns from all stakeholders, to include blocked development, build failures, or critical test updates
  • Provide expert mentorship to staff and junior developers on the topics including, but not limited to testing, object-oriented programming, and Java
  • Provide consultation on all automated testing matters, including external queries on performance, functional, api, permissions, and other desired tests or testing functionality

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in automated software testing and Quality Engineering, specifically with automated testing frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Spring). In lieu of degree, comparable experience will be considered.  
  • 5+ years of professional experience with Java and working with the Agile software development lifecycle
  • Experience using Git, Jenkins, and various Continuous Integration tools
  • Experience with JIRA, XRAY, and other ticketing tools
  • Experience with ELK, Kibana, and other metrics services
  • Experience with Docker, Selenium Grid, and other containerized services
  • Experience with any UNIX-based operating system 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility  

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript/Python)
  • Experience with PostgreSQL or other database solutions
  • Experience with Performance Testing
  • Experience leading testing teams

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Salary Range

$91,500 - $185,400 USD
