At Two Six Technologies, we build, deploy, and implement innovative products that solve the world’s most complex challenges today. Through unrivaled collaboration and unwavering trust, we push the boundaries of what’s possible to empower our team and support our customers in building a safer global future.
Two Six Technologies is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer, with active TS or TS/SCI clearance, to join the Information Operations team to be the key technical resource for two strategic areas for our products, as well as providing general DevOps support for our multiple engineering teams.
Our customers choose us for the quality of our data, and they often want to see their own unique datasets alongside our data. This is the first area on which this role will be focused. Today this data ingestion is a fully manual process that does not scale. We need your expertise with DevOps workflows to manage, and automate these data integrations so that we can meet the increasing demand for them. While building, managing, and maintaining this functionality, you would be working as a part of a remote engineering and DevOps team, and your time would be mostly remote, with the possibility of some short-term travel to customer locations.
The second strategic area of focus will be in supporting our products as they go through the process of acquiring FedRAMP Authorization and U.S. Government ATO. Previous experience with the specific DevOps and engineering tasks necessary to achieve authorization is not required, but it is a huge plus. We will have experts in the process leading and working with you throughout the project, and you will have the full support of the remote engineering and DevOps teams. This project will require onsite, in-person, collaboration in secure facilities in the DMV area, and possibly other customer locations in the U.S., to complete. Once authorization is achieved then some occasional additional time on-site to maintain and support the products will be required.
Expectations:
Proactive Problem Solving: Demonstrate a strong drive to independently identify challenges and propose effective, scalable solutions.
Technical Acumen: Apply deep technical intuition and critical thinking when tackling complex or unfamiliar problems.
Adaptability: Thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, maintaining focus and delivering high-quality results under pressure.
Results-Oriented: Prioritize metrics-driven outcomes and consistently deliver work that creates measurable, meaningful impact.
Documentation Excellence: Maintain a habit of thoroughly documenting code, system designs, and processes to ensure clarity and long-term maintainability.
Mentorship and Collaboration: Exhibit a passion for mentoring team members, fostering collaboration, and sharing knowledge to elevate the entire team.
Qualifications:
Cloud Expertise: Experience with major cloud service providers, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
Proficiency in Scripting: Strong expertise in scripting languages, with a primary focus on Python.
Elastic Experience: Our primary datastore is Elastic, experience with it, or a similar technology is necessary.
DevOps Experience: Experience implementing and supporting DevOps practices in a production environment.
CI/CD and Tooling: Expert proficiency in CI/CD tooling and pipelines, with hands-on experience using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab Pipelines.
Containerization Proficiency: Significant experience working with containerization technologies, particularly Docker.
Scalable Architecture Design: Proven experience designing and implementing scalable architectures in production environments.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or comparable experience.
Cybersecurity Awareness: Familiarity with cybersecurity systems and principles to safeguard infrastructure and applications.
Nice to Have:
Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with tools like Kubernetes, Helm, and EKS.
Development Practices: Proficiency in software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
Web Frameworks: Hands-on experience with Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
Automation and Configuration Management: Experience with tools like Chef, Ansible, or Puppet to streamline infrastructure management.
Infrastructure Best Practices: Knowledge of best practices for infrastructure security, reliability, and fault tolerance.
