Two Six Technologies is looking for a DevOps Engineering Team Lead to work within a cross-functional development team focused on advancing state-of-the-art projects within cybersecurity technology. 

This role is hybrid and the hired candidate must be willing to work in the Arlington, VA office 3 - 4 days per week. Local candidates are preferred. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Spend roughly 60% hands on development, 40% managing your team
  • Lead 5-7 DevOps Engineers and build a culture of DevOps excellence on your team and across the department
  • Participate in strategy discussions with senior engineering leadership and align DevOps development activities with larger engineering goals
  • Maintain and improve various build tools and processes
  • Work with developers to execute software releases, configuration updates, and maintain the health and status of the build pipeline
  • Utilize a strong work ethic and genuine curiosity and bring high energy and engagement to your team
  • Respond to performance issues identified by alerting and other reported incidents
  • Stay aware of cutting-edge DevOps-enabling technologies and integrate new tools and processes where you see fit

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or comparable education and experience. 
  • Minimum 7 years experience working on DevOps focused teams
  • Minimum 5 years experience with Bash and Python 
  • Minimum 5 years experience developing and operating CI/CD tooling: Github Actions, Gitlab Pipelines, Jenkins, ELK stacks, or related technologies.
  • Minimum 5 years using project management and collaboration tools like JIRA and Confluence, ZoHo, or ServiceNow
  • Minimum 2 years experience leading developers and running a development team

Nice If You Have:

  • Active DoD clearance (Secret or above)
  • Experience with major cloud service providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
  • Experience with Docker, Packer, and RHEL
  • General CI/CD tooling knowledge, experience, and best practices
  • Experience with configuration management/automation tools like Chef, Ansible, or Puppet to streamline infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with best practices for infrastructure security, reliability, and fault tolerance
  • Hands-on experience with Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply software design patterns to build robust, maintainable, and reusable code architectures.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Understanding of cybersecurity systems

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Salary Range

$125,600 - $207,400 USD
