HR Generalist

We are growing and looking for an HR Generalist to join the team. As an HR Generalist, you will be a key member of the corporate HR team, playing a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the human capital of our organization. This role will support the HR Manager, employees and managers within assigned client groups and will serve as the point of contact, responding to employee inquiries, providing guidance and support on HR programs, policies, procedures and best practices, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience administering people related programs including the annual assessment cycle, compensation, HR reporting and supporting employee relations activities.
This is a hybrid position working from our Arlington, VA office.
What you will do:
- Assist with execution and administration of human resource programs including but not limited to performance management and compensation practices
- Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding HR policies and procedures or handbook interpretation
- Conduct exit interviews, identifying relevant trends or patterns, and assist managers and employees with the off-boarding process
- Assist the HR Manager with progressive disciplinary matters and investigations as needed
- Review HR processes and suggest changes to improve efficiency and scalability
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS
- Create and compile regular and ad hoc reports and assist with data audits as needed
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Assist with manger training and development initiatives
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in human resources or related field
- 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations including EEO,FMLA, ADA and FLSA
- Proven experience in employee relations and progressive discipline
- Flexibility to work on site 2-3 days per week in the Arlington Headquarters location
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (preferably Paycom), MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Google Platform (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills to engage with employees and build relationships at all levels
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- To be proactive, forward-thinking, with ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations
- Organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
What we would like:
- Experience supporting government IT contracting organizations
- PHR OR SPHR certification
Clearance needed:
Willing and eligible to get a government security clearance

The projected salary range listed for this position is annualized. This is a general guideline and not a guarantee of salary. Salary is one component of our total compensation package and the specific salary offered is determined by various factors, including, but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, geographic location, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Salary Range
$67,400 - $111,300 USD
